Women In The 42nd Canadian Parliament
The 42nd Canadian Parliament includes a record number of female Members of Parliament, with 88 women elected to the 338-member House of Commons of Canada (26%) in the 2015 election. This represents a gain of twelve seats over the previous record of 76 women in the 41st Canadian Parliament. By contrast, the 114th United States Congress had 105 women sitting in the 435-seat United States House of Representatives. Of those 88 women, 54 were elected for the first time in the 2015 election. In his first speech following the election, Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau indicated that for the first time in Canadian history, he planned to appoint a fully gender-balanced Cabinet. |

Saskatoon West (french: Saskatoon-Ouest) is a federal electoral district in Saskatchewan, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1979 to 1988, and again in 2015. This riding was created in 1976 from parts of Moose Jaw and Saskatoon—Biggar ridings. It was abolished in 1987 when it was redistributed into Kindersley—Lloydminster, Saskatoon—Clark's Crossing and Saskatoon—Dundurn ridings. Sheri Benson (born 1962 or 1963) is a Canadian politician who represented the riding of Saskatoon West in the House of Commons of Canada from the 2015 election until her defeat in 2019. Sturgeon River—Parkland is a federal electoral district in the Edmonton Capital Region of northern Alberta, Canada, and has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2015. It was created in 2012 from the electoral districts of Edmonton—Spruce Grove (61%), Westlock—St. Paul (33%) and Yellowhead (6%). It was essentially the suburban portion of Edmonton—Spruce Grove.
