The Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) is a professional women's pool tour based in the United States. Pool (cue Sports)
Pool is a classification of cue sports played on a table with six pockets along the , into which balls are deposited. "Pool billiards" is sometimes hyphenated and/or spelled with a singular "billiard". The WPA itself uses "pool-billiard" in its logo but "pool-billiards" in its legal notices. The organization compounds the words to result in an acronym of "WPA", "WPBA" having already been taken by the Women's Professional Billiards Association. Normal English grammar would not hyphenate here, and the term is actually a Germanism. A general rules booklet on pool games in general, including eight-ball, nine-ball and several others. Each specific pool game has its own name; some of the better-known include eight-ball, blackball, nine-ball, ten-ball, seven-ball, straight pool, one-pocket, and bank pool. Kristina Olegovna Tkach (; born 19 January 1999) is a Russian professional Pool (cue sports), pool player. She became the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Junior Championship winner, defeating Lee Woo-jin (pool player), Lee Woo-jin in the final 9–6. Tkach is a four time European Pool Championships, European champion having won the eight-ball event in 2016 and 2019, as well as Straight pool in 2017 and 2019. In addition, she is a nine-time Junior European Champion. Tkach is a regular player on the Euro Tour events, reaching the Tour number one in 2016. Kim Ga-young (pool Player)
Kim Ga-young (born 13 January 1983 in Seoul; sometimes referred to in the Western media as Ga-young Kim and nicknamed "Little Devil Girl") is a South Korean female professional pool player who plays on the Women's Professional Billiard Association Tour. Her father began teaching her to play three-cushion billiards (a form of carom billiards) when she was about twelve years old. After playing three-cushion for about three years, she started playing nine-ball pool and turned pro at the 2003 BCA Open. Jasmin Ouschan
Jasmin Ouschan (; born 10 January 1986) is an Austrian professional pool player from Klagenfurt, Carinthia. Her first professional competition occurred in 2002, but she did not officially become a professional member of the Women's Professional Billiards Association (WPBA) until 2007. She is currently one of the top-ranked women in the world according to the 2010 prize money list and by the WPBA rankings. At times, she has been ranked as the number one female player in the world. Since 2006, she has been listed among the top-ten women in the annual prize money rankings. Ouschan competes regularly with men on the Euro Tour and in 2008 became the first woman to earn a medal in an open world pool championship. Gerda Hofstätter
Gerda Hofstätter Gergerson (born 9 February 1971), nicknamed "G-Force", is an Austrian professional pool player. Hofstätter won the WPA World Nine-ball Championship in 1995. She is a winner at the European Pool Championship on nine occasions, and won the Austrian national Championship seventeen times. Hofstätter is a two-time Hall of Fame inductee being voted into both the Women's Professional Billiard Association and Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fames in the ''Greatest Players'' Category. Hofstätter was the ''Austrian Sportswoman of the Year'' for Carinthia in 1993. Hofstätter played on the WPBA Tour until her retirement, doing so from 1993 onward. Chen Siming
Chen Siming (born 30 December 1993) is a Chinese professional pool player. Chen is best known for winning the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. Career Chen grew up in Heilongjiang Province, China, where her parents were owners of a pool hall, and she started playing snooker aged 8. Four years later, in 2006, she won both the 8-ball and 9-ball divisions of the Chinese National Youth Championships. By 2009 she was being coached by Wu Jia-qing (formerly known as Wu Chia-Ching), the double world champion. Within a year, she defeated Allison Fisher to win the 2010 China Open, her first major title. In the 2010 Asian Games, Chen won the gold medal in the Six-red snooker event. Line Kjørsvik (born December 29, 1975) is a Norwegian professional Pool (cue sports), pool player. Kjørsvik is a regular player for the Women's Professional Billiard Association, WPBA-Tour in America. At the European Pool Championships Kjørsvik has won six championships. At the Cue sports at the 2005 World Games, World Games 2005 she won the bronze medal in the Nine-ball event, reaching the semi-final. At the WPA Women's World Nine-ball Championship, Kjørsvik reached her best position in 2006 reaching the quarter-finals. In addition, she is 35 times Norwegian pool champion.
