Ben James Peters (born Greenville, Mississippi, June 20, 1933; died Nashville, Tennessee, May 25, 2005) was an American country music songwriter who wrote many #1 songs. Charley Pride recorded 68 of his songs and 6 of them went to #1 on the American country charts. Peters was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1980. Peters was briefly a recording artist himself; his only charting hit was his own composition " San Francisco is a Lonely Town", which hit #46 on the country charts in 1969. Larry Butler (producer)
Larry Butler (March 26, 1942 – January 20, 2012) was a country music producer/songwriter. From the mid-1970s through the 1980s, he worked with Kenny Rogers. Many of his albums with Rogers went either gold or platinum and accumulated many millions of sales around the world. These albums include ''Kenny Rogers'' (1976), ''The Gambler'' (1978), ''Gideon'' (1980) and ''I Prefer The Moonlight'' (1987). Rogers and Butler maintained a friendship outside of show business. Butler also produced Rogers' 1993 album ''If Only My Heart Had A Voice''. He also participated in Rogers 2006 retrospective DVD ''The Journey''. Wayland D. Holyfield (born March 15, 1942) is a prominent American songwriter and leader in the songwriting community. His music has been regarded as a standard for “honest simplicity” in the Nashville writing community. Personal life Wayland Holyfield was born in Mallettown, Conway County, Arkansas. Roger Dale Bowling (December 3, 1944 – December 26, 1982) was an American songwriter who specialized in country music. Biography Bowling was born in Helton, Leslie County, Kentucky. As a recording artist, he placed seven singles on the '' Billboard'' country chart, all with songs he co-wrote. His highest-charting single as an artist was "Yellow Pages", which peaked at number 30 in 1981. Robert Valentine Braddock (born August 5, 1940) is an American country songwriter and record producer. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Braddock has contributed numerous hit songs during more than 40 years in the industry, including 13 number-one hit singles.
