''Woman with a Past'' is an American daytime soap opera that aired on CBS from February 1, 1954, to July 2, 1954. The sustaining program originated at WCBS-TV and replaced ''Action in the Afternoon'' in the CBS schedule. Synopsis The soap focuses on Lynn Sherwood (Constance Ford), a Manhattan dress designer and her tribulations. A couple of months into the show, Lynn opened a dress shop, and the series included fashion shows. Constance Ford
Constance Ford (born Cornelia M. Ford; July 1, 1923 – February 26, 1993) was an American actress and model. She is best known for her long-running role as Ada Lucas Hobson on the daytime soap opera '' Another World'', which she played from 1967 until shortly before her death in 1993. She is also well-known for appearing in nearly two dozen movies from 1956 to 1974, with her most noteworthy role being the matriarch Helen Jorgenson in '' A Summer Place'' (1959). It was revised and reprinted in 1987 and 1988, but is currently out of print. ''Action in the Afternoon'' is an American TV Western that aired live on CBS from February 2, 1953, to January 29, 1954. The series originated from the studios and back lot of WCAU, Channel 10 in Philadelphia, and was broadcast Monday through Friday regardless of the weather. The half-hour series aired variously at 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm, throughout its run. The show starred singing cowboy Jack Valentine, who was backed up by the Tommy Ferguson Trio. Other characters included Jack's sidekick Ozzie, Sheriff Ace Bancroft, and Kate, who published the ''Huberle Record''. Red Cotton ran the local saloon, the Copper Cup. The show could be very violent; the premiere left one character dead and one wounded. Gene Lyons (February 9, 1921 – July 8, 1974) was an American television actor from Pittsburgh. He was perhaps best known for his role as police commissioner Dennis Randall on the NBC detective series '' Ironside'' starring Raymond Burr. Career A life member of The Actors Studio, Lyons was in the Broadway production of ''Witness for the Prosecution'' for two years. His other Broadway credits include ''Masquerade'' (1958), ''The Trip to Bountiful'' (1953), ''Harriet'' (1942), and ''This Rock'' (1942).
