Ernst Wolrad, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe (19 April 1887 – 15 June 1962) was a head of the Princely House of Schaumburg-Lippe. Biography He was born at Stadthagen, the fourth son of Georg, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe and his wife, Princess Marie Anne of Saxe-Altenburg (1864–1918). He succeeded his brother Prince Adolf II as head of the Princely House following his death in a plane crash in Mexico on 26 March 1936. Following his death at Hanover, he was succeeded as head of the Princely House by his second son, Philipp-Ernst. Stadthagen () is the capital of the district of Schaumburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 20 km east of Minden and 40 km west of Hanover. The city consists of the districts Brandenburg, Enzen-Hobbensen, Hörkamp-Langenbruch, Krebshagen, Obernwöhren, Probsthagen, Reinsen and Wendthagen-Ehlen. Princess Emma of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym (20 May 1802–1 August 1858) was a German princess. She was grandmother of Queen Emma of the Netherlands, who was born the day after she died and was named after her, and was great-grandmother of Queen regnant Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.
