Wollongong Olympic Football Club, often referred to as "Olympic" are semi-professional association football team based in North Wollongong, New South Wales. They compete in the Illawarra Premier League. The club was formed during the 20th century, initially called "Aris FC" and then renamed "Wollongong Olympic FC" in 1990. The club has won the Illawarra Premier League Premiership on two occasions in 1994 and 2019 and the Grand Final on one occasion in 1985 (then called Aris FC). They play out of Herb Clunis Oval which is in the North Wollongong branch of the PCYC. North Wollongong, New South Wales
North Wollongong is a coastal suburb of the City of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It is immediately to the north of the Wollongong city centre. Although North Wollongong is an official suburb with precise boundaries, the term North Wollongong may refer to northern areas of Wollongong which are not part of the suburb. Geography The suburb has a beach, North Wollongong Beach, or simply North Beach, with adjacent cafes and restaurants as well as the Novotel Northbeach Hotel. Most of North Wollongong is commercial or residential with many of Wollongong's highrises situated there. The Illawarra Premier League is a regional Australian semi-professional association football league, comprising teams from the Illawarra, and South Coast regions of New South Wales. The competition is run under the Football South Coast body, an associate of Football NSW – a member federation of Football Federation Australia. PCYC
Police & Community Youth Clubs (PCYC) or Police and Community Youth Clubs are a network of Australian non-profit, community organisations, founded in New South Wales. In some states such as NSW, they are constituted as an Incorporated Association. The Mission of PCYC is to get young people active in life; develop their skills, character and leadership; and prevent and reduce crime by and against young people. The organisation is community-based and involves the provision of low-cost structured activities to children and adults, aimed specifically at the underprivileged persons in the community. John Joseph Fleming (born 1 July 1953) is an English former Association football, footballer who played 199 league games in the English Football League, Football League in a ten-year professional career throughout the 1970s.
