Wolfmother
Wolfmother is an Australian hard rock band from Sydney. Formed in 2004, the group is centred around vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, who is the only constant member of the line-up. The band has been through many personnel changes since their formation, with the current incarnation including drummer Hamish Rosser and bassist Brad Heald, both of whom are former members of The Vines. The original – and most commercially successful – line-up included bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett. Ross and Heskett left Wolfmother after four years in 2008. Stockdale, Ross and Heskett formed Wolfmother in 2004 after several years of informal jamming. Signing with independent label Modular Recordings, the band released their self-titled debut album in Australia in 2005, which reached number 3 on the domestic albums chart. ''Wolfmother'' is the debut studio album by Australian rock band Wolfmother, originally released on 31 October 2005 in Australia. The album was later released internationally at various dates in 2006, with the addition of "Love Train" and a rearranged track listing. ''Wolfmother'' peaked at number three on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart and was certified five times platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association. Six singles were released from Wolfmother's debut album: "Mind's Eye" (with "Woman"), "White Unicorn", "Dimension", "Woman", "Love Train" and "Joker & the Thief", the latter of which charted the highest at number eight on the ARIA Singles Chart. Victorious (Wolfmother Album)
''Victorious'' is the fourth studio album by Australian hard rock band Wolfmother. Recorded at Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood, California with producer Brendan O'Brien, it was released on 19 February 2016 by Universal Music Enterprises. The album was preceded by the release of the title track "Victorious" as a single, which reached number 26 on the US ''Billboard'' Mainstream Rock chart. Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale began work on ''Victorious'' after promoting the band's third album ''New Crown'' throughout 2014. He wrote all songs on the album and performed all vocals, guitars and bass, with regular bassist Ian Peres contributing keyboards only. Chris Ross (musician)
Christopher James Ross is an Australian musician. He was the founding bass guitarist and keyboardist of hard rock band, Wolfmother, from 2000 to August 2008. His trademark stage antic is playing the keyboard at a slant or vertically. At the APRA Awards of 2007 Ross and bandmates, Myles Heskett and Andrew Stockdale, won the Songwriters of the Year category. After leaving Wolfmother with Heskett, the pair worked as Doom Buggy, then they formed Palace of Fire (with Matt Blackman) in 2009. In 2011 Ross and Heskett formed Good Heavens with Sarah Kelly (ex-theredsunband). Ross was formerly a digital designer and has three children. ''Keep Moving'' is the debut solo studio album by Australian hard rock musician Andrew Stockdale. Initially conceived as the third album by Stockdale's band Wolfmother, it was later announced to be a solo album after the temporary disbandment of the group in March 2013. Recorded by the then latest Wolfmother line-up between 2011 and 2013, ''Keep Moving'' was released by Universal in June 2013. ''New Crown'' is the third studio album by Australian hard rock band Wolfmother. Recorded at Mates Rehearsal Studio in Los Angeles, California and The Shed in Byron Bay, New South Wales, it was produced by the band's frontman Andrew Stockdale and self-released on 23 March 2014, initially as a digital download only available on Bandcamp. It was later reissued physically. After Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale released the band's planned third album '' Keep Moving'' under his own name in 2013, the band returned with a lineup featuring Stockdale, bassist and keyboardist Ian Peres, and drummer Vin Steele later in the year. ''Wolfmother'' is the debut extended play (EP) by Australian rock band Wolfmother. Recorded and mixed at Ghetto Studios in Detroit, it was released in Australia on 27 September 2004 and later in the United States and the United Kingdom. The EP was produced and mastered by Jim Diamond and mixed by bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross; the album cover was designed by drummer Myles Heskett. All four songs from ''Wolfmother'' were later re-recorded for the band's self-titled debut studio album; "Dimension", "Woman" and "White Unicorn" were also released as singles from the album. Andrew James Kenneth Stockdale (born 20 July 1976) is an Australian singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and only continuous member of the rock music, rock band Wolfmother. Early life Andrew James Stockdale was born in Brisbane on 20 July 1976. He was raised in Ashgrove, Queensland, Ashgrove and attended Ashgrove State School, The Gap State High School and Kelvin Grove State College. Ian Peres
Ian Peres is an Australian rock musician and multi-instrumentalist. He is the bassist and keyboardist of the hard rock band Wolfmother. Peres joined the band in January 2009 as Andrew Stockdale found new members after Chris Ross and Myles Heskett quit in 2008. The same year that Peres joined Wolfmother, the band released their second studio album ''Cosmic Egg''. Career In an interview with Toazted in 2011, Stockdale revealed that former drummer Dave Atkins had suggested Ian Peres when the band were looking for a bassist. Hamish Rosser
Hamish Rosser (born 16 May 1974) is an Australian rock musician. He is best known for his time in The Vines and his current position in Wolfmother. Early life Hamish’s musical journey began when he took up the guitar at the age of eight. By the time he turned eleven he had switched to drums and bought his first set of drums with money saved up from a paper round in his Sydney neighbourhood. Rosser's first gig was with high school punk band called "The Warthogs" who covered The Clash, The Ramones and the Sex Pistols. Rosser studied chemical engineering at Sydney University and stayed there for four years until he left to pursue a career as a musician. Career Rosser was asked to join The Vines to replace the band's previous drummer, David Oliffe. He left the Vines, along with guitarist Ryan Griffiths, in December 2011. Alex Carapetis
Alex Carapetis (born 27 April 1982) is an Australian drummer and member of The Voidz. He was formerly a member of Wolfmother, and has toured with Nine Inch Nails, and Julian Casablancas among others. Alex currently resides in Los Angeles. Early life Born in Adelaide, Australia, Alex studied jazz at the Elder Conservatorium in 2000 before moving to Sydney to further his music career. He finally relocated to the US in 2005 at the age of 23. Career Touring In October 2005, Trent Reznor hired Carapetis to be the touring drummer for Nine Inch Nails on their With Teeth World Tour alongside openers Queens of the Stone Age and Autolux.
