Wolfgang Webner (23 April 1937 – 2020) was a German volleyball player who competed for East Germany in the 1968 Summer Olympics and in the 1972 Summer Olympics The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and commonly known as Munich 1972 (german: München 1972), was an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. .... He was born in Breslau. In 1968 he was part of the East German team which finished fourth in the Olympic tournament. He played eight matches. Four years later he won the silver medal with the East German team in the 1972 Olympic tournament. He played all seven matches. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.
