Wohaib FC
Hafiz Wohaib Butt Memorial Football Club or simply Wohaib FC is a professional football club based in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Wohaib is the first Pakistani club to participate Asian Club Championship, where it qualified in the 1992–93 edition. History The club was formed in December 1982 by former Pakistan Football Federation president and member of the National Assembly of Pakistan Hafiz Salman Butt in the memory of his younger brother Hafiz Wohaib Butt. The club participated in the 1992–93 Asian Club Championship, where they earned victories over clubs from Bahrain and Bangladesh to qualify for Group B. After losing by 10–1 to Al-Wasl in the opening fixture, they came back and drew 1–1 with PAS Tehran FC in their final group game. For their efforts, Wohaib FC was ranked 5th place in Asian Club Championship that year. Qazi Ashfaq
Qazi Ashfaq (12 December 1967 – 13 November 2001) was a Pakistani footballer who played as a forward. Considered one of the major Pakistani footballers in the 1990s, he was praised for his skill, speed, and leadership. He was the author of the starter goal in the final against Maldives, which saw Pakistan retain their second title in the 1991 South Asian Games. Early life Ashfaq was born on 12 December 1967 in Hassan Abdal, in the Attock district of Pakistan, with his family originally belonging from the North Western Frontier Province. Club career Ashfaq initially played for Wohaib FC until joining Punjab, where he won the National Football Championship and played in the 1989–90 Asian Club Championship. The 2007–08 season is the 53rd season of Pakistan domestic football and the 4th season of the Pakistan Premier League and was held from November 1, 2007, to February 6, 2008, under the auspices of Pakistan Football Federation. The 2006–07 Pakistan Premier League season was the 3rd season since the inception of Pakistan Premier League and 52nd season of Pakistan domestic football. The football season was moved from the summer to the winter months. Pakistan Army ended the season as league champions, successfully defending the title and winning their second title in three years. The 2005–06 Pakistan Premier League season was the 2nd season of Pakistan Premier League and 51st season of Pakistan domestic football. WAPDA were the defending champions, winning their 1st Pakistan Premier League and 5th Pakistani title last season. Pakistan Army won the title on 19 October 2005, after defeating Pakistan Telecommunication 2-0, with 54th and 70th minute goals from Mubassar and Jaffar Hussain, Army had one game to play against WAPDA who were three points away first position. Army won the league regardless of their result against WAPDA due to superior league. AFC Cup
The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. The AFC President's Cup was an annual international association football competition between domestic clubs sides run by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held between 2005 and 2014. The competition targeted emerging football nations, and was set below the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup competitions. Competition format Between 8 and 12 teams participated in each edition of the competition. From 2005 to 2007, 8 clubs were placed into two groups of 4 teams. The PFF National Challenge Cup is an annual semi-professional knockout football competition in men's domestic Pakistani football within the Pakistan football league system.
