Peter Atte Wode
Peter Atte Wode () was a Justice in Eyre for England south of the River Trent, Trent from 1360–1367. Atte Wode was probably born in Coulsdon in Surrey (now Greater London) according to Manning and Bray's ''History of Surrey''. The precise date of his birth is not known, but it is presumed to have been sometime before 1325. His father was Geoffrey Atte Wode (Abt 1297–1346), a Serjeant-at-Arms to Edward III of England, Edward III and his mother was Anisia. Peter and his wife, Laurencia, had at least one son who was also named Peter Atte Wode (Bef 1363-aft 1384) who was a Knights of the Shire, Knight of the Shire and married Petronilla. On 15 March 1351 Peter Atte Wode and John De Roulegh along with seven others were appointed as "keepers" to the "joint commission for the peace and for labourers" in Surrey. Thomas Wode
Sir Thomas Wode (died 31 August 1502), KS, of Childrey in Berkshire (now in Oxfordshire), was Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas from 1500 and in 1478 was elected a Member of Parliament for Wallingford. Origins His early life and career are unknown, leading to him being described as 'perhaps the most obscure Chief Justice of the Tudor period'. Career His Inn of Court, through process of elimination, was the Middle Temple (as the Middle Temple records for that period are missing, while the records of the other three Inns do not include him), and his first appointment was as a Justice of the Peace for Berkshire in 1478, the same year being returned for Parliament representing Wallingford. He was made a Serjeant-at-law in 1486, and in 1488 a King's Serjeant; it is supposed he then became a member of Serjeant's Inn after this. Thomas Atwode (Awode, Wode, Wodde) (by 1469 – 1532), of Canterbury, Kent, was an English politician. Atwode was born by 1469, the third son of Thomas Atwode, who died in 1498. The family were from Canterbury, and his brother, William Atwode, was also an MP. Atwode was educated at Gray's Inn. Atwode married Margaret Moyle, a daughter of the MP John Moyle of Eastwell. He was an alderman of Canterbury by 1500, chamberlain from 1500 to 1503 and mayor for 1504–05, 1512–13 and 1530–31.
