Wobulenzi
Wobulenzi is a municipality in ''Katikamu sub-county'', in Luweero District in the Central Region of Uganda. Location Wobulenzi is approximately , by road, north of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city, on the highway to Karuma. The road is a busy, all-weather tarmac highway, referred to as the Kampala–Gulu Highway. The coordinates of the town are 0°43'12.0"N, 32°31'48.0"E (Latitude:0.7200; Longitude:32.5300). Wobulenzi sits at an average elevation of above mean sea level. Population The 1991 national census enumerated 5,391 people in Wobulenzi. In 2002, the population that year put the town's population at 18,846. In 2014, the national population census and household survey put the population at 27,048. In 2020, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), estimated the mid-year population of the town at 31,000 inhabitants. Ziroobwe–Wobulenzi Road
Ziroobwe–Wobulenzi Road is a road in Central Uganda, connecting the towns of Ziroobwe to Bamunanika and Wobulenzi, all in Luweero District. The Kampala–Gulu Highway, also Kampala–Gulu Road, is a road connecting the capital city of Kampala, in the Central Region, with the city of Gulu, the largest urban centre in the Northern Region of Uganda. Location The road starts in Kampala and continues north, through eight Ugandan districts, and ends in Gulu, a distance of approximately . Luweero District (also spelled as Luwero) is a district in the Central Region of Uganda. Luweero is the site of the district headquarters. Location Luweero District is bordered by Nakasongola District to the north, Kayunga District to the east, Mukono District to the southeast, Wakiso District to the south, and Nakaseke District to the west. Centenary Bank
Centenary Bank is a commercial bank in Uganda licensed by the Bank of Uganda, the central bank and national banking regulator. History The bank was founded in 1983 as a credit trust, Centenary Rural Development Trust (CRDT), by Simeon Lutaakome, Hugh Francis Pulle, Paul Kateregga, Vincent Kirabo kya Maria, Emmanuel Mpande, and John Ogutu. Luwero Triangle
The Luweero Triangle, sometimes spelled Luwero Triangle, is an area of Uganda north of the capital Kampala, where, in 1981, Yoweri Museveni started the guerrilla war that propelled him and his National Resistance Movement into power in 1986. The area was notorious for the persecution of civilians during the Luweero War, between the rebel National Resistance Army and the government of Milton Obote. Many residents were either forcibly recruited or killed by both sides during the five-year Ugandan Bush War, as Museveni's guerrilla forces started their advance from Kyankwanzi southeast toward Kampala.
