Wish (Feargal Sharkey Album)
''Wish'' is the second solo album of former Undertones singer Feargal Sharkey. Released in 1988, three years after his successful self-titled solo debut, the album was considered to be somewhat disappointing and was not as successful as its predecessor. Background Upon release, Sharkey told the '' Sunday Independent'': "I've never devoted myself so much to an album before, so if it comes out, and nobody gives a damn about it, I would be extremely disappointed, to say the least." "Blue Days" was inspired by The Troubles in Northern Ireland. Sharkey told the ''Sunday Independent'': "It's about my last return to Derry, and how soul-destroying I found it, seeing what living there has done to all my old friends." Steve Jordan (born January 14, 1957) is an American musical director, producer, songwriter, and musician. During the 1970s and 1980s, he was a member of the bands for the television shows ''Saturday Night Live'' and ''Late Night with David Letterman''. In the early 1980s, Jordan was a member of the band "Eye Witness", along with Anthony Jackson on bass, and Manolo Badrena on percussion. Since the mid 1980s, Jordan has also been a member of the X-Pensive Winos, the side project of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. It was written by Eddie Chacon and Suzanne Valentine, and produced by Danny Kortchmar. The song failed to chart in the UK, but reached No. 45 in Italy. A music video was filmed to promote the single, while Sharkey also performed the song on the Dutch show ''TopPop''.
