Unguarded (Amy Grant Album)
''Unguarded'' is the seventh studio album by contemporary Christian music, Christian music singer Amy Grant, released in 1985 on A&M Records. It is Grant's first album released by A&M. When ''Unguarded'' was released in 1985, Grant was perhaps the most popular star in contemporary Christian music, recording songs with religious lyrics in the pop/rock style of the day. With this album, however, the religious content of the lyrics was scaled back as compared with her two previous regular studio albums, ''Age to Age'' and ''Straight Ahead (Amy Grant album), Straight Ahead''. The album track "I Love You" was Grant's first secular love song from her own pen. Despite this, the album's lead-off single, "Find a Way (Amy Grant song), Find a Way", was a number one hit on the Christian radio charts. Four other singles from the album were also Top Ten Christian radio hits. The aggressive mainstream style of the songs on ''Unguarded'', combined with a heavy promotional campaign on the part of ...

Aimee Mann
Aimee Elizabeth Mann (born September 8, 1960) is an American singer-songwriter. Over the course of four decades, she has released more than a dozen albums as a solo artist and with other musicians. She is noted for her sardonic and literate lyrics about dark subjects. Her work with the producer Jon Brion in the 1990s was influential on American alternative music. Mann was born in Richmond, Virginia, and studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. In the 1980s, after playing with the Young Snakes and Ministry, she co-founded the new wave band 'Til Tuesday and wrote their top-ten single "Voices Carry" (1985). 'Til Tuesday released three albums and disbanded in 1990 when Mann left to pursue a solo career. Mann released her first solo album, '' Whatever'', in 1993, followed by '' I'm With Stupid'' in 1995. ''Jerry Maguire'' is a 1996 American romantic comedy-drama sports film written, produced, and directed by Cameron Crowe; it stars Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr., Renée Zellweger, and Regina King. Produced in part by James L. Brooks, it was inspired by an experience sports agent Leigh Steinberg (who acted as technical consultant for the film) had with client Tim McDonald during the 1993 NFL season when free agency was introduced to the league. The film was also partly inspired by a 28-page memo written at Disney in 1991 by Jeffrey Katzenberg. It was released in North American theaters on December 13, 1996, produced by Gracie Films, and distributed by TriStar Pictures. The film received generally favorable reviews from critics, who praised its performances and screenplay. Magnolia (soundtrack)
''Magnolia: Music from the Motion Picture'' is the soundtrack album to the 1999 film ''Magnolia'' by Paul Thomas Anderson. Largely composed of songs by Aimee Mann, it also features tracks by Gabrielle, Supertramp and Jon Brion. The album received positive reviews and was certified gold in 2001. Music The music of Aimee Mann inspired the director Paul Thomas Anderson to write ''Magnolia;'' he said he "sat down to write an adaptation of Aimee Mann songs". The film also features a sequence in which the characters sing along to Mann's song "Wise Up". Mann originally recorded "Wise Up" to be used in the 1996 film ''Jerry Maguire'', but the director, Cameron Crowe, felt the final version did not fit the scene he planned it for. Crowe said: "It was definitely heartbreaking to not be able to use it. Of course, Paul Thomas Anderson was smart enough to give it a bigger home in ''Magnolia''." Only two of the songs were written for the film: "You Do" and " Save Me". "Save Me" garnered Mann a ...
