Wisconsin Senate, District 30
The 30th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northeast Wisconsin, the district comprises parts of central Brown County, eastern Oconto County, and southeast Marinette County. It includes most of the city of Green Bay, the northern half of the city of De Pere, and the cities of Marinette and Oconto. Current elected officials Eric Wimberger is the senator representing the 30th district. He was first elected to the senate in the 2020 general election. Ledgeview is a town in Brown County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 6,555 as of the 2010 census, up from 3,363 at the 2000 census. Crawford County is a county in the southwest part of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,113. Its county seat is Prairie du Chien. History Along with Brown County, Crawford County is one of Wisconsin's original counties, established by the Michigan Territorial legislature in 1818, and named after William H. Crawford, James Monroe's Treasurer at the time. It originally covered the western half of Wisconsin's present area. Vernon County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 30,714. Its county seat is Viroqua. History Vernon County was renamed from Bad Ax County on March 22, 1862. Bad Ax County had been created on March 1, 1851, from territory that had been part of Richland and Crawford counties. Buffalo County, Wisconsin
Buffalo County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 13,317. Its county seat is Alma. The county was created in 1853 and organized the following year. History Buffalo County, founded in 1853, is named for the Buffalo River, which flows from Strum to Alma, where it empties into the Mississippi River. The Buffalo River obtained its name from the French voyager Father Louis Hennepin, who named it ''Riviere des Boeufs'' in 1680. Mike Gallagher (American Politician)
Michael John Gallagher (born March 3, 1984) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2017. His district covers the state's northeastern part. Gallagher succeeded Representative Reid Ribble after the 2016 election. His service in Congress has been notable for contributions in national security. Early years Gallagher lived in Green Bay through middle school. After his parents' divorce, he moved to California and studied at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, while spending summers in Wisconsin. Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 8th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in northeastern Wisconsin. It is currently represented by Mike Gallagher, a Republican. Gallagher won the open seat vacated by Reid Ribble who retired in 2016. It is also one of two Congressional Districts to ever elect a Catholic priest, Robert John Cornell. The 8th District has leaned Republican throughout its history; seven Democrats have represented it since its creation, but none have served more than two terms. It became more of a swing seat in the 1990s. In 2004, Republican George W. Bush won 55 percent of the vote in the district, while in 2008, Democrat Barack Obama received 53.6 percent of the vote. Kristina Shelton
Kristina Marie Shelton (' Sandherr; born June 2, 1980) is an American educator and politician. A Democrat, she represents the 90th district of the Wisconsin State Assembly, based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Early life and career Shelton was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on June 2, 1980. She attended Pennsylvania State University from 1998 until 2002, graduating with a B.S. in kinesiology, physical and health education. She later attended Marymount University from 2008 until 2010, earning a master's degree in science and health promotion management. She then taught in the Health and Physical Education department at Northern Virginia Community College from 2010 until 2013. The 90th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northeastern Wisconsin, the district covers most of the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin, in central Brown County.
