State Trunk Highway 97 (often called Highway 97, STH-97 or WIS 97) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in central Wisconsin for from WIS 64 near Goodrich to WIS 13 in Marshfield. Route description WIS 97 starts at the intersection of WIS 13 and heads northeast. The road continues as Central Avenue southwest of the intersection and is signed as a special route of WIS 13. The highway then heads north and runs straight through Stratford as Weber Avenue and intersects WIS 153. Marshfield is a city in northwest Wood and southwest Marathon counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 10, Highway 13 and Highway 97. The largest city in Wood County, its population was 18,929 at the 2020 census. Of this, 18,119 were in Wood County, and 810 were in Marathon County. State Trunk Highway 29 (often called Highway 29, STH-29 or WIS 29) is a state highway running east–west across central Wisconsin. It is a major east–west corridor connecting the Twin Cities and the Chippewa Valley with Wausau and Green Bay. A multi-year project to upgrade the corridor to a four-lane freeway or expressway from Elk Mound to Green Bay was completed in 2005. The expansion served to improve safety on the route, which was over capacity as a two-lane road. The remainder of WIS 29 is two-lane surface road or urban multi-lane road. Goodrich, Wisconsin
Goodrich is a town in Taylor County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 510 at the 2010 census. History The south and east edges of the six by six mile square that would become Goodrich were first surveyed in 1851 by crews working for the U.S. government. In December 1861 a different crew of surveyors marked all the section corners in the township, walking through the woods and swamps, measuring with chain and compass.
