The 20th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within Milwaukee County. It comprises the suburban cities of Cudahy and St. Francis, and some of the far south side of the city of Milwaukee. It includes Tippecanoe neighborhood, part of the Bay View neighborhood, and Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. The district is represented by Democrat Christine Sinicki, since January 1999. Rosemary Potter
Rosemary Potter is a former member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Biography Potter was born on April 15, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from Bay View High School and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee before serving as an intern with the United Nations. Potter was later a member of the faculty at Milwaukee Area Technical College, Alverno College and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and spent time in Italy, India, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and Japan. Political career Potter was first elected to the Assembly in a special election in 1989. In 1993, she became the first woman to serve as Majority Caucus Chairperson in Wisconsin. Tim Carpenter
Timothy W. Carpenter (born February 24, 1960) is an American politician and Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing the 3rd Senate district since 2003. He previously served 18 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1985–2003). Early life and education Carpenter was born on February 24, 1960, at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee. He graduated from Milwaukee's Casimir Pulaski High School and attended Marquette University in 1978, before transferring to University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where he received his bachelor's degree in political science and history in 1982. He continued graduate work at Milwaukee, but was interrupted when he was elected to the Legislature in 1984. Racine County (, sometimes also ) is a county in southeastern Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, its population was 197,727, making it Wisconsin's fifth-most populous county. Its county seat is Racine. The county was founded in 1836, then a part of the Wisconsin Territory. Racine County comprises the Racine metropolitan statistical area. Racine ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. It is located on the shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Root River. John Plewa
John R. Plewa (September 22, 1945September 13, 1995) was an American educator and Democratic politician from Wisconsin. He served 10 years in the Wisconsin State Senate and 12 years in the State Assembly, representing Milwaukee. Plewa is most well-known for authoring Wisconsin's 1988 family and medical leave law. Biography Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Plewa graduated from Milwaukee's Don Bosco High School in 1963. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 1968. Following his graduation, he worked as a teacher at the Milwaukee Area Technical College and was a member of the United Steelworkers union. The 21st Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district covers the southeast corner of Milwaukee County, including all of the suburban cities of Oak Creek and South Milwaukee, as well as a few blocks of the neighboring city of Franklin. Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is a civil–military airport south of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States., effective May 21, 2020. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2023–2027, in which it is categorized as a medium-hub primary commercial service facility. Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport covers and has five asphalt and concrete runways.
