Wisconsin's 93rd Assembly District
The 93rd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in western Wisconsin, the district comprises almost all of Pierce County, Wisconsin, Pierce County, as well as parts of Pepin County, Wisconsin, Pepin County, western Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, Eau Claire County, and southern Dunn County, Wisconsin, Dunn County. It contains the cities of Durand, Wisconsin, Durand and Prescott, Wisconsin, Prescott as well as most of the city of River Falls, Wisconsin, River Falls and the villages of Bay City, Wisconsin, Bay City, Ellsworth, Wisconsin, Ellsworth, Elmwood, Wisconsin, Elmwood, and Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, Maiden Rock. University Of Wisconsin–River Falls
The University of Wisconsin–River Falls (UW–River Falls or UWRF) is a public university in River Falls, Wisconsin. It is part of the University of Wisconsin System. The campus is situated on the Kinnickinnic River (St. Croix River), Kinnickinnic River in the St. Croix River (Wisconsin–Minnesota), St. Croix River Valley. The university has 32 major buildings and two laboratory farms, with a total of of land. In 2013–2014, UWRF had an enrollment of 6,061 students in more than 40 undergraduate and graduate programs. Waushara County, Wisconsin
Waushara County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 24,520. Its county seat is Wautoma. Waushara County is located in central Wisconsin, about north of Madison. History Waushara County was established by an act of the Wisconsin Legislature on February 15, 1851. It originally consisted of a single organized Town of Waushara. In 1852 the county achieved full organization. The county seat was first located at Sacramento and was relocated to Wautoma in 1854 after a bitter fight between proponents of the two places. Juneau County, Wisconsin
Juneau County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 26,718. Its county seat is Mauston. History Before white settlement, before loggers and explorers, the area that is now Juneau County was the home of Native Americans who left behind artifacts like the thunderbirds etched on the wall at Twin Bluffs and the Gee's Slough mounds outside New Lisbon. Juneau County was established in 1857 when the Wisconsin Legislature passed legislation separating lands west of the Wisconsin River from what was then Adams County. After a contest with neighboring New Lisbon, the county seat was established in Maugh's Town, which is known today as Mauston. The county was named after Solomon Juneau, a founder of Milwaukee. Adams County, Wisconsin
Adams County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 20,654. Its county seat is Friendship. The county was created in 1848 and organized in 1853. Sources differ as to whether its name is in honor of the second President of the United States, John Adams, or his son, the sixth President, John Quincy Adams. History The founders of Adams County were from upstate New York. These people were "Yankee" settlers, that is to say they were descended from the English Separatists who settled New England in the 1600s. They were part of a wave of New England farmers who headed west into what was then the wilds of the Northwest Territory during the early 1800s. Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Wisconsin Rapids is a city in and the county seat of Wood County, Wisconsin. The population was 18,877 at the 2020 census. The city also forms one of the core areas of the United States Census Bureau's Marshfield-Wisconsin Rapids Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Wood County and had a 2020 population of 74,207. History The American Indians called the area "Ahdawagam", meaning "Two-sided Rapids". Although Europeans began to settle this area in the 1830s, Wisconsin Rapids has been known by this name only since 1920. Prior to that, the community was divided by the Wisconsin River, with the west side incorporated as Centralia and the east side as Grand Rapids. The two cities merged in 1900, with the entire community taking the name Grand Rapids. Marlin Schneider
Marlin Schneider (born November 16, 1942) is a retired American educator and Democratic politician. He served 40 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1971–2011), representing Wisconsin Rapids and neighboring parts of central Wisconsin. He is also known by his nickname: "Snarlin' Marlin." Early life and education Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, he graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1960. He earned his bachelor's degree in 1965 at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, then known as "Wisconsin State University–La Crosse."
