Wisconsin's 8th State Senate District
Wisconsin's 8th State Senate district is one of 33 districts of the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district comprises northeastern Milwaukee County, southern Ozaukee County, southern Washington County, and northeastern Waukesha County. Current elected officials Alberta Darling was the most recent senator representing the 8th district. She was first elected in the 1992 general election and resigned in December 2022. A special election will be held in this district concurrent with the 2023 Spring election. Each Wisconsin State Senate district is composed of three State Assembly districts. The 8th Senate district comprises the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th Assembly districts. Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin
Whitefish Bay is a village in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 14,954 at the 2020 census. History In the early 19th century when the first white settlers arrived, the Whitefish Bay area was controlled by Native Americans, including the Menominee, Potawatomi, and Sauk people. The area came under the control of the United States Federal Government in 1832 when the Menominee surrendered their claims to the land by signing the '' Treaty of Washington''. The land was organized as part of the Town of Milwaukee in 1835, and for much of the 19th century, the community's main economic activities were farming and fishing. Many of the early settlers were German immigrants. In 1889, Pabst Brewing Company-owner Frederick Pabst purchased land in the Whitefish Bay area which he developed into the Whitefish Bay Pabst Resort, which included a hotel, restaurant, beer garden, and bandshell. Green County is a county (United States), county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census, the population was 37,093. Glenn Grothman
Glenn S. Grothman (; born July 3, 1955) is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative from Wisconsin's 6th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, he was first elected to his seat in 2014. Grothman represented the 58th district in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1993 until 2005 and was vice chair of the Assembly's Republican caucus from 1999 to 2004. He represented the 20th district in the Wisconsin Senate from 2005 to 2015, and was the assistant majority leader from 2011 to 2015. Wisconsin's 5th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 5th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin, covering most of Milwaukee's northern and western suburbs. It presently covers all of Washington and Jefferson counties, most of Waukesha County, and portions of Dodge, Milwaukee and Walworth counties. It is currently represented by Republican Scott Fitzgerald. This was historically the most Republican district in Wisconsin, but as suburban areas have moved left, while rural and areas of industrial workers have moved right, the 7th and 8th have surpassed the 5th. However, this district remains solidly Republican for the time being. George W. Bush carried the district in 2004 with 63% of the vote. Gwen Moore
Gwendolynne Sophia Moore (born April 18, 1951) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2005. In 2016, Moore was elected to serve as caucus whip of the Congressional Black Caucus for the 115th United States Congress. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Her district is based in Milwaukee and as a result of the 2011 redistricting also includes some Milwaukee County suburbs: Bayside, Brown Deer, Cudahy, Fox Point, Glendale, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, West Milwaukee, Shorewood and Whitefish Bay. Wisconsin's 4th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 4th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin, encompassing a part of Milwaukee County and including almost all of the city of Milwaukee (except the slivers of the city in Waukesha and Washington counties), as well as its working-class suburbs of Cudahy, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, and West Milwaukee. Recent redistricting has added the Milwaukee County North Shore communities of Glendale, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point, Bayside, and Brown Deer to the district.
