Towarzystwo Sportowe Wisła Kraków Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Wisła Kraków (), is a Polish professional football club based in Kraków. They currently compete in the I liga, the second level of Polish football league system, following relegation from the 2021–22 Ekstraklasa season. It ranks fourth in the number of national titles won (13), behind Górnik Zabrze, Ruch Chorzów (both on 14), and Legia Warsaw (15), and second in all-time victories. Wisła was founded in 1906 under the name TS Wisła ( Polish: Towarzystwo Sportowe Wisła). The team plays its home matches at Henryk Reyman Stadium. The club's coat of arms is a white star on a red background crossed by a blue ribbon. Katyn Massacre
The Katyn massacre was a series of mass killings under Communist regimes, mass executions of nearly 22,000 Polish people, Polish military officer, military and police officers, border guards, and intelligentsia prisoners of war carried out by the Soviet Union, specifically the NKVD (the Soviet secret police), at Joseph Stalin's order in April and May 1940. Adam Obrubański
Adam Obrubański (18 December 1892 – April 1940)He does not appear in their lists of Olympians who died as a result of war or who were killed in the Katyn massacre. was a Polish football player and official, also a graduate of Kraków’s renowned Jagiellonian University. Born in Kopychyntsi, Ukraine in 1892, he was a student at the Faculty of Philosophy and later at the Faculty of Law. In the years 1914–1922 he served in the Austrian and later the Polish Army. Then, he worked as a reporter for Kraków's Ilustrowany Kurier Codzienny daily. In 1932 he took his PhD in law at Jagiellonian University. After retiring from an active football career (Obrubański represented Wisła Kraków and ŁKS Łódź), he became an influential official of the Polish Football Association and manager of the Poland national team as well as a referee. During World War II, Poland was occupied by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union following the invasion in September 1939, and it was formally concluded with the defeat of Germany by the Allies in May 1945.
