Winthrop High School
Winthrop High School is a public four-year high school in Winthrop, Massachusetts, United States. It is a part of Winthrop Public Schools. The current school building, with of space, had a cost of $80.2 million, with about $42.5 million or 60% of the costs covered by the Massachusetts School Building Authority. The building is shared with Winthrop Middle School. The first steel beams were put up in 2015 and opening was to occur in fall 2016. Note: Winthrop Middle School and Winthrop High School are housed in the same building, but are two separate and distinct schools with their own administration. Winthrop is a town in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 19,316 at the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census. Winthrop is an ocean-side suburban community in Greater Boston situated at the north entrance to Boston Harbor, close to Logan International Airport. John Bryn Williams (born 1977), known as John B, is an English disc jockey and electronic music producer. He is widely recognised for his eccentric clothing and wild hair and his production of several cutting edge drum and bass tracks. Larry Wayne Thomas Jr. (born October 25, 1969) is an American retired professional baseball pitcher. During his three seasons in the major leagues (1995–1997), he played for the Chicago White Sox. Amateur career Born in Miami, Florida, Thomas played college baseball for the University of Maine Black Bears under head coach John Winkin. In 1990, he played collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, where he was named outstanding pitcher at the league's annual all-star game. In 1991, he was named conference pitcher of the year. Beatrice Roberts
Alice Beatrice Roberts (March 7, 1905 – July 24, 1970) was an American film actress. Early years Roberts was born on March 7, 1905, in New York City. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Colin M. Roberts, and she attended Winthrop High School. She entered several beauty pageants, including the 1924 and 1925 Miss America pageants in Atlantic City, New Jersey (as Miss Manhattan, 1924, and Miss Greater New York, 1925). She won the "Most Beautiful Girl in Evening Gown" award each time. In 1916, Roberts was selected as the most beautiful girl at an annual Movie Ball contest in Boston. Harriet White Medin (March 14, 1914 – May 20, 2005) was an American actress and dialogue coach who worked in Italian and American films. She appeared in the cult film ''Death Race 2000''. Patricia Irene Brown (April 23, 1931 – June 17, 2012) was a pitcher who played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Listed at 5' 5", 135 lb., she batted and threw right handed. Like many players, Pat Brown had a brief career in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League because she felt that the schedule was demanding and the continuing trips interfered with her studies. Paul Francis Anderson
Paul Francis Anderson (April 20, 1917 – January 4, 1987) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Bishop of Duluth (1969–1982) and Auxiliary Bishop of Sioux Falls (1982–1987). Biography Paul Anderson was born in April 1917 in Roslindale, a neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts, to Philip and Mary Elizabeth Anderson. His father lost his job during the 1919 Boston Police Strike and later became a motorman on the Boston Elevated Railway. After graduating from Winthrop High School in 1935, he enrolled at Boston College but soon transferred to St. John's Seminary in Brighton.
