Winny Puhh
Winny Puhh is an Estonian metal/punk band formed in 1993 in Põlva. The founding members, Ove, Indrek, and Olavi knew each other from school. In 2009, the drummer Olavi Sander (Olevik) temporarily left the band and was replaced by Kristjan (Väikepax). Later however Olevik returned and the band has two drummers now. Many of their performances involve costumes. Musical career Named after Winnie-the-Pooh. After thirteen years together, they became better known in 2006 with the song "Nuudlid ja hapupiim" (Noodles and Sour Milk) winning them a spot on Raadio 2's yearly hit songs. In 2008, Winny Puhh's music video "Vanamutt" (The Old Lady) was nominated for the Estonian Music Awards (Eesti Muusikaauhinnad). In 2009, Henry Kõrvits, better known under the stage name G-Enka, joined Winny Puhh for the song "Peegelpõrand" (Mirror Floor), garnering them sixth place with 456 votes in the 2009 Raadio 2 Top 40. Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Põlva
Põlva () is a town in southeastern Estonia, the capital of Põlva County, and the centre of Põlva Parish. Põlva is home for the Intsikurmu Song Festival Grounds, which regularly hosts concerts and summer activities, situated in a small forested area on the west side of the town. History The name "Põlva" appears in the historical record in 1452. The name seems to derive from the Estonian word for "knee" (). Winnie-the-Pooh, also called Pooh Bear and Pooh, is a fictional Anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic teddy bear created by English author A. A. Milne and English illustrator E. H. Shepard. G-Enka
Henry Kõrvits (born 30 December 1974 in Tallinn), better known by his stagename Genka, is an Estonian rapper, record producer and actor. Henry Kõrvits' father is musician Harry Kõrvits and his grandfather was composer and musicologist Harri Kõrvits. He began rapping in 1996 along with Revo and DJ Paul Oja, who was Genka's schoolmate. Together they started a band called Toe Tag. Their first album ''The Real Kuhnja Homophobes'' was released next year. In 1998, Genka and Revo joined another Estonian rap group, A-Rühm, and Toe Tag went on vacation. Also Genka started making his own solo songs. The most famous hit was "Tallinn", which was rapped along with Droopy in 2001. During the same year Toe Tag came back together and started a big Estonian tour. Eesti Laul (English: 'Estonian Song' or 'The Song of Estonia') is an annual music competition organised by Estonian public broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR). It determines the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, and has been staged every year since 2009. The contest was introduced in 2009, replacing the former Eurolaul festival, used since Estonia's first participation in Eurovision in 1993. 2013 Eurovision Song Contest
The Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was the 58th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Malmö, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Euphoria" by Loreen. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT), the contest was held at Malmö Arena and consisted of two semi-finals on 14 and 16 May, and a final on 18 May 2013. The three live shows were presented by Swedish comedian and television presenter Petra Mede, being the first time only one host had presented the show since the contest. Birgit Õigemeel
Birgit Sarrap (née Õigemeel, born 24 September 1988), also known as simply Birgit, is an Estonian singer. Õigemeel rose to prominence in 2007 after winning the first season of ''Eesti otsib superstaari'', the Estonian version of ''Idol''. Her debut self-titled studio album was later released in 2008. Õigemeel has gone on to release four other studio albums in her career. Õigemeel represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Et uus saaks alguse" after winning ''Eesti Laul 2013''. She qualified for the grand final, where she placed 20th. Grete Paia
Grete Paia (born 27 August 1995) is an Estonian singer and songwriter. She is best known internationally for competing in ''Eesti Laul 2013'' and later in '' Eesti Laul 2016''. She also competed in Eesti Laul 2019 and in Eesti Laul 2022 in a duet with Andrei Zevakin. Early life Grete Paia was born on 27 August 1995 in Kuressaare, Estonia on the island of Saaremaa.
