Winnie Baze
Winford Eason "Winnie" Baze (July 14, 1914 – December 30, 2006) was an American football back who played one season with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He first enrolled at Schreiner Institute before transferring to Texas Technological College. In American football, a back is a player who plays off of the line of scrimmage (as opposed to a lineman). Historically, the term "back" was used to describe multiple positions on offense and defense, although more descriptive and specific position naming is now common.
