Winfall Historic District is a national historic district located at Winfall, near Hertford, Perquimans County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 72 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in the town of Winfall. The district developed between about 1860 and 1950, and includes notable examples of Queen Anne and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Notable buildings include the Epworth United Methodist Church, W.E. Speight House (c. 1888), the J.D. White House (c. 1890), the Alonzo R. Winslow House (c. 1894), the R.T. Winfall is a town in Perquimans County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 554 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Elizabeth City, North Carolina Micropolitan Statistical Area. History The Winfall Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. Geography Winfall is located at (36.214551, -76.456758). Winfall (along with Hertford) is considered to be on the southwesternmost fringe of the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Area, and many local residents commute frequently to and from the Seven Cities region for work, shopping, and leisure. American Craftsman is an American domestic architectural style, inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, which included interior design, landscape design, applied arts, and decorative arts, beginning in the last years of the 19th century.
