Windsor House (Belfast)
Windsor House (officially known as 9-15 Bedford Street) was a 23-story, 80 m high-rise building on Bedford Street in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The building was the tallest storeyed building in Northern Ireland before being surpassed by Obel Tower (also in Belfast) and stands at 85 metres (279 feet) tall, with 28 floors. The total structural height is actually taller than the Obel, if you include the two plant floors and radio mast it stands at 93m(305ft) tall. Constructed in 1974 as an office building, Windsor House has a tall green elevator shaft and green side wall facade, as well as satellite and aerial masts, which stand a further seven metres in the air. The building was badly damaged in an IRA bombing in 1992. It was sold for £30m in 2006 to County Cavan building firm P Elliot. Windsor House (Hong Kong)
Windsor House is a commercial development located on Gloucester Road in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, comprising a shopping centre with an office tower above. History Windsor House was built on the site of former Dairy Farm cold stores. Developer Hongkong Land acquired the land when it acquired Dairy Farm in 1972, and originally planned to build a hotel on the site. The cold stores were demolished in July 1976 and the site was temporarily used as a public car park. The new Windsor House was designed by Hong Kong architecture firm Palmer and Turner. It bore the same name as another Hongkong Land building, on Des Voeux Road Central, that was being demolished as part of the company's major redevelopment of their older properties in Central. The building is angled diagonally (relative to the street grid) in order to maximise views of Victoria Park from the office floors. Windsor House is an office building in Victoria Street, City of Westminster, London, England. It was built in 1973 by R. Seifert & Partners, The building replaced an older Victorian building, Windsor House (the Windsor Hotel, formerly the Army and Navy Hotel), which had been built in 1888 by Frederick Thomas Pilkington. The 1970s complex consists of an eighteen-storey tower, a two-storey block (Butler Place) and residential accommodation (Christchurch House) above an underground car park and basement. The purple granite and glass facade of the main structure stands 70 m (230 ft). Butler Place houses Lloyds TSB at ground level. The eighteen-storey tower was previously occupied solely by staff from Transport for London but they have since left the building. In January 2018, the Government Property Agency acquired the building. The House of Windsor is the reigning royal house of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. In 1901, a line of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (itself a cadet branch of the House of Wettin) succeeded the House of Hanover to the British monarchy with the accession of King Edward VII, son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. In 1917, the name of the British royal house was changed from the German ''Saxe-Coburg and Gotha'' to the English ''Windsor'' because of anti-German sentiment in the United Kingdom during the First World War. There have been five British monarchs of the House of Windsor since then: George V, Edward VIII, George VI, Elizabeth II, and Charles III.
