Wilmot Power Station
The Wilmot Power Station is a conventional hydroelectric power station located in north-western Tasmania, Australia. Technical details Part of the Mersey Forth run-of-river hydro scheme that comprises seven hydroelectric power stations, the Wilmot Power Station is the fourth station in the scheme. The power station is located on the foreshore of Lake Cethana. Water stored at Lake Gairdner is transferred east approximately to the station via a tunnel and a surface penstock. Water is then discharged from the station into Lake Cethana. The power station was commissioned in 1971 by the Hydro Electric Corporation (TAS). It has one turbine, with a generating capacity of of electricity. The station output, estimated to be annually, is fed to TasNetworks' transmission grid via an 11 k V/220 kV Siemens generator transformer to the outdoor switchyard. Mersey River (Tasmania)
The Mersey River is a river on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia. The city of Devonport is situated at the river's mouth on Bass Strait. The source of this river is Lake Meston. From here the river feeds itself into Lake Youd. Lees Creek is a tributary to the Mersey River and it feeds into Lake Orion, Lake Merope, Lake Eros, Lake Artemis and Junction Lake prior to the Mersey.
