Willy García
Willy Camilo García Archivol (born September 4, 1992) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder for the New Jersey Jackals of the Frontier League. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox. Career Pittsburgh Pirates García signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in February 2010. He made his professional debut that season with the Dominican Summer League Pirates, batting .250/.333/.333 in 51 games. In 2011, he split the season between the GCL Pirates and the Low-A State College Spikes, accumulating a .266/.322/.440 slash line with 5 home runs and 35 RBI. The Altoona Curve are a Minor League Baseball team based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, named after nearby Horseshoe Curve (but also alluding to the curveball, a type of pitch). It is an official MLB Partner League based in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. The Tri-City ValleyCats (often shortened to Cats) are a professional independent baseball team based in Troy, New York. The Tri-City name refers to the three nearby cities of Albany, Schenectady, and Troy which make up New York State's Capital District. From 2002 to 2020, they were members of Minor League Baseball's New York–Penn League (NYPL) as the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Houston Astros. The Boomers replaced the now defunct Schaumburg Flyers of the Northern League after the franchise was evicted for not paying almost US$1 million in back rent. The "Boomers" nickname comes from a common nickname for males of the greater prairie chicken species, a bird which was once abundant in the Midwest but is now a vulnerable species. Baseball at the 2019 Pan American Games was held from July 27 to August 4. The venue for the competition was the baseball stadium located at the Villa María del Triunfo cluster. The tournament was part of the 2019 edition of the Pan American Games, hosted by Lima, Peru. A total of eight men's teams (each consisting of up to 24 players) competed.
