James Willmott-Brown
James Willmott-Brown (also credited as Willmott-Brown and Mr Willmott-Brown) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', played by William Boyde. The character originally appeared in Albert Square from 1986 to 1989, where he established the square's second pub – "The Dagmar" – and instigated a feud with his business rival Den Watts ( Leslie Grantham). Ellen Willmott
Ellen Ann Willmott (19 August 1858 – 27 September 1934) was an English horticulturist. She was an influential member of the Royal Horticultural Society, and a recipient of the first Victoria Medal of Honour, awarded to British horticulturists living in the UK by the society, in 1897. Willmott was said to have cultivated more than 100,000 species and cultivars of plants and sponsored expeditions to discover new species. Inherited wealth allowed Willmott to buy large gardens in France and Italy to add to the garden at her home, Warley Place in Essex. Peter Willmott (18 September 1923 – 8 April 2000) was a British sociologist who along with Michael Young founded the Institute for Community Studies. His studies of family life and housing influenced both social policy and the development of applied social research in Britain after the Second World War. Early life Willmott was born at Adderbury, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, to Benjamin Merriman Willmott, an automobile engineer and part-owner of a small motor-repair workshop and garage who also ran a rural one-bus service, and Dorothy Nellie Godden (née Weymouth; d. 1927). After his mother's death, Willmott's family (he, his father, and an aunt and her children) moved to Luton, where Willmott became an engineering apprentice in a car factory. Robert Aris Willmott (30 January 1809 – 27 May 1863) was an English cleric and author. Christened Robert Eldridge Aris Willmott, he never used his second Christian name. Life Willmott -- the son of a solicitor, who married, about 1803, to Mary Ann (died 1861), daughter of Rev John Cleeve of Ringwood, Hampshire -- was born at Bradford, Wiltshire on 30 January 1809. His father went to London, and had money troubles. In October 1819 he was admitted at Merchant Taylors' school. He entered Harrow School in January or February 1825. There in March 1828 he brought out the first number of the ''Harrovian'', which ran to six numbers. At the close of 1828 Willmott became tutor to Thomas Green, and remained so for about two years. Dame Glenis Willmott, ('' née'' Scott; born 4 March 1951) is a retired British Labour Party politician who served as leader of the European Parliamentary Labour Party (EPLP) and Member of the European Parliament for the East Midlands. Early life and career Willmott was born in the mining village of Horden, County Durham, but moved to Mansfield with her family at the age of 10. Francis Willmott
Francis Edward Sykes Willmott (1870 – 29 January 1941) was an Australian politician who was a member of both houses of the Parliament of Western Australia, serving in the Legislative Assembly from 1914 to 1921, and then in the Legislative Council from 1921 to 1926. He was the leader of the Country Party from 1915 to 1919. Early life Willmott was born in Kirkley, Suffolk, England, where his father, Henry Willmott, was the rector. Aimee Willmott (born 26 February 1993) is an English competitive swimmer who has represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games, FINA world championships and European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. She was the 2018 Commonwealth Games champion in the 400 metres individual medley. Life Willmott competed at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics in the 400 metre individual medley reaching the final in 2016. Hugh Benedict Willmott FSA MCIfA (born 1972) is a British archaeologist and academic. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology at the University of Sheffield. His research focuses on medieval England, with a particular interest in monastic archaeology. Biography Willmott attended Durham University from 1991 to 1999, obtaining the degrees of BA, MA and PhD. He was an undergraduate at University College. On leaving university, he worked for a short period in commercial archaeology before being appointed a lecturer in archaeology at The University of Sheffield in 2004, where he was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2010. Trevor Willmott (born 29 March 1950) is a British retired bishop in the Church of England. He served as Bishop of Basingstoke (one of two suffragan bishops in the Diocese of Winchester) from 2002 to 2009 and then Bishop of Dover (''de facto'' diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Canterbury) from 2010 until his retirement in 2019.
