Willis E. Donley
Willis E. Donley (June 24, 1901 – June 6, 1985) was an American politician and lawyer. Born in the Town of Frankfort, Pepin County, Wisconsin, Donley went to Durand High School. He then went to Ripon College and the Marquette University Law School. Donley then practiced law. Donley, pg. 234 His son, Terrence Joseph Donley, was a career criminal, serving time for narcotics and cashing bad checks. One scam involved him claiming to be the son of Lowell Thomas. In the 1970s, Terrence Donley worked as an undercover operative for Wisconsin Attorney General Robert Warren. Frankfort is a town in Pepin County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 325 at the 2020 census. The unincorporated communities of Ella, and Porcupine are located in the town. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 31.0 square miles (80.2 km2), of which, 30.1 square miles (77.9 km2) of it is land and 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2) of it (2.91%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 362 people, 136 households, and 96 families residing in the town. The population density was 12.0 people per square mile (4.6/km2). There were 161 housing units at an average density of 5.4 per square mile (2.1/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 99.17% White, 0.28% from other races, and 0.55% from two or more races. Pepin County, Wisconsin
Pepin County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 7,318, making it the fourth-least populous county in Wisconsin. Its county seat is Durand. Pepin County is the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of the ''Little House on the Prairie'' children's books. History Pepin County was formed in the year 1858 from portions of neighboring Dunn County. Both the town of Pepin (originally named North Pepin in 1856), and the village of Pepin were named after Lake Pepin, a broadening of the Mississippi River between Pepin County and the Counties of Goodhue and Wabasha in the state of Minnesota. The lake itself is likely named for one or more of the Pepin families from the French Canadian city of Trois-Rivières in Quebec, Canada. Several Pepins appear in the early records, including the senior figure Guillaume dit Tranchemontagne and his descendants Pierre and Jean Pepin du Chardonnets. Frank Peter Balistrieri (May 27, 1918 – February 7, 1993) was the crime boss of the Milwaukee crime family from 1961 to 1993. He was a central figure in the skimming of Las Vegas casinos during the 1970s and 1980s, and served several prison sentences. Criminal career In the late 1950s, Balistrieri married Antonina Alioto, a fellow Sicilian, and daughter of Milwaukee crime family boss John Alioto. They had four children together. In 1961, Balistrieri was installed as the new boss of the Milwaukee family, replacing the retired Alioto. According to the FBI records, in 1961, Balistrieri entered a feud with Chicago mob boss Tony Accardo, due to Balistrieri allegedly ordering the murder of nightclub operator Izzy Pogrob the year prior without Accardo's permission.
