William McIntosh (1775 – April 30, 1825),Hoxie, Frederick (1996)pp. 367-369/ref> was also commonly known as ''Tustunnuggee Hutke'' (White Warrior), was one of the most prominent chiefs of the Creek Nation between the turn of the nineteenth century and his execution in 1825. He was a chief of Coweta town and commander of a mounted police force. He became a large-scale planter, built and managed a successful inn, and operated a commercial ferry business. Early American historians attributed McIntosh's achievements and influence to his mixed race Scots/European ancestry. Since the late 20th century, historians have argued much of McIntosh's political influence stemmed more from his Creek upbringing and cultural standing, particularly his mother's prominent Wind Clan in the Creek matrilineal system, and to other aspects of Creek culture. Will McIntosh (William D. McIntosh, born 31 January 1962 in New York City) is a science fiction and young adult author, a Hugo-Award-winner, and a winner or finalist for many other awards. Along with ten novels, including Defenders, Love Minus Eighty, and Burning Midnight, he has published dozens of short stories in magazines such as'' Asimov's Science Fiction, Strange Horizons, Lightspeed Magazine, Clarkesworld, and ''Interzone''. His stories are frequently reprinted in different "Year's Best" anthologies. Life McIntosh attended the University of Georgia, where he received a Ph.D. in social psychology in 1990. He was a professor at Georgia Southern, where he taught psychology classes. William Carmichael M'Intosh LLD (also spelt McIntosh; 10 October 1838, St Andrews – 1 April 1931, St Andrews) was a Scottish physician and marine zoologist. He served as president of the Ray Society, as vice-president of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (1927–30), and was awarded the Neill Prize (1865-8). Life He was born in St Andrews on 10 October 1838 the son of Baillie John McIntosh and his wife, Eliza Mitchell. He studied Medicine at St Andrews University 1853 to 1857. He was licensed by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1860, as the local licensing body and also gaining an MD for his thesis 'Observations and experiments on the carcinus mœnas' from the University of Edinburgh. He then began working at Murray Royal Asylum near Perth, where he remained for three years before moving to the Murthly Asylum nearby in 1863. William McIntosh (fur Trader)
William McIntosh (c. 1760 – July 1832; also printed as "M‘Intosh") was a fur trader, treasurer of the Indiana Territory under William Henry Harrison, and real estate entrepreneur. He became famous for the United States Supreme Court case of '' Johnson v. McIntosh'' (1823) and for his massive real estate holdings on the Wabash River. For a time he was a close friend of William Henry Harrison, but their relationship eventually soured and Harrison sued him for slander. When Harrison won the lawsuit, McIntosh was forced to pay him a large sum of money. Early years William McIntosh was born in Aberdeen, Scotland around 1760. In Scotland he served as a lieutenant in the Northern Fencibles from 1778 to 1781 and then emigrated to Canada. In 1785 he moved to Vincennes, Indiana and operated as a fur trader in the Illinois country along the Wabash River. William McIntosh was a soldier and politician from Massachusetts. McIntosh born in Dedham, Massachusetts. He later moved to Needham in the mid-1760s. During the American Revolution, McIntosh served as a colonel in the 1st Suffolk Regiment. He saw action at Dorchester Heights, Castle Island, Fishkill, and at other battles in New York. William Priestly MacIntosh (1857 – 9 January 1930) was a sculptor in Sydney, Australia. His works often decorated significant public buildings in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and major provincial centres. Many of them are now heritage-listed. Early life MacIntosh was born near Ayr in Scotland in 1857 and died in Sydney in 1930. Before immigrating to New South Wales in 1880, he studied anatomy and sculpture in Edinburgh.
