Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. The 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition started on 4 May and ended on 18 August 2019. Sixty-eight teams competed in the tournament. Sixty-four teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2018 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C (Joinville, Juazeirense, Salgueiro and Tupi). Brusque, Ituano, Jacuipense and Manaus qualified for the semi-finals and were promoted to the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. The finals between Brusque and Manaus finished in a 4–4 draw on aggregate, but Brusque clinched their first title by winning 6–5 on penalties. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. The Copa Federação Gaúcha de Futebol, commonly known as the Copa FGF, is an annual cup competition organized by the Rio Grande do Sul state football federation for clubs that are in the first, second and third divisions of the Campeonato Gaúcho. It is held in the second half of the year and usually clubs participating in the higher levels of the Campeonato Brasileiro do not participate with the first team squad, using his academy. The competition was founded in 2004, being the most important knockout cup competition in Rio Grande do Sul football. The most important league is the Campeonato Gaúcho, played in the first half of the year. The 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition was originally scheduled to begin on 3 May and end on 22 November, however due to the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was rescheduled for 6 September 2020 – 6 February 2021. Sixty-eight teams competed in the tournament. Sixty-four teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C ( ABC, Atlético Acreano, Globo and Luverdense). Luverdense declined to participate being replaced by Sinop. The match Guarany de Sobral v Salgueiro, scheduled for 20 September 2020 (Group A3 1st round), was postponed after 12 Guarany de Sobral players tested positive for COVID-19. In the Group A8 12th round, (14 November 2020), São Caetano players refused to play their away match against MarcÃlio Dias in protest over unpaid wages. The match Imperatriz v 4 de Julho, played at the Estádio Frei Epifânio D'Abadia (Imperatriz) on 28 August 2021 (Group A2 13th round), was finished in the 76th minute (0–0) after a strong storm caused the partial collapse of the grandstand roof located over the press booths and changing rooms of the teams and referees.
