Williamsville East High School
Williamsville East High School is one of the three high schools located in the Williamsville Central School District in Williamsville, New York. The other two high schools in the district are Williamsville North High School and Williamsville South High School. For the 2016–2017 school year, 1,030 students were enrolled in the school, about the same as the 2004–2005 school year, where 1,048 students were enrolled. Curriculum Williamsville East has a wide range of Advanced Placement courses in many areas of study. All students are required to take the New York State Regents exams as required by the state for graduation. Williamsville East offers two different New York State certified diplomas: The Regents diploma and the Advanced Regents Diploma. The Advanced Regents diploma has more requirements in the math and sciences than the Regents diploma. East Amherst, New York
East Amherst is a suburban hamlet northeast of downtown Buffalo, Erie County, New York, United States. It straddles the towns of Amherst and Clarence, and comprises the majority of ZIP code 14051. History East Amherst is centered in an area originally known as "Transit Station", a name that has its origins in the railroad station of the New York Central "Peanut Line" that crossed Transit Road just north of Muegel Road. The New York Central Railway arrived in the area in 1854, with the completion of the Canandaigua and Niagara Falls railroads. By 1858, the completion of the railroad spurred the development of the area and other hamlets, such as Transit Station, (now East Amherst,) and Getzville. Daniel Lewis Foote
Daniel Lewis Foote is an American diplomat and career member of the Senior Foreign Service who was the United States Special Envoy for Haiti from July to September 2021. He formerly served as the United States Ambassador to Zambia. Early life and education A native of Syracuse, New York, Foote graduated from Williamsville East High School in 1981. He attended Columbia University, where he was a member of the school's football and track and field teams and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Joe Mack (catcher)
Joseph Allan Mack (born December 27, 2002) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Miami Marlins organization. He was selected by the Marlins in the first round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. Amateur career Mack lives in East Amherst, New York, and attended Williamsville East High School. As a sophomore, Mack batted .462 with four home runs and was named All-Western New York. His junior season was canceled due to COVID-19. Mack played in the 2020 Perfect Game All-American Classic. John Stevens (singer)
John Bassat Stevens IV (born July 28, 1987) is an American classic pop singer and was the sixth-place finalist on the third season of the television series ''American Idol''. Biography Stevens was born in Buffalo, New York and his permanent residence is in nearby East Amherst. He attended Williamsville East High School and sang in a select jazz group. He auditioned for ''American Idol'' in New York City, singing "That's Amore" as an impression of Dean Martin. Gregory Charles Papa (born October 10, 1962) is an American sportscaster, currently employed as the radio play-by-play announcer for the San Francisco 49ers. Todd Marchant
Todd Michael Marchant (born August 12, 1973) is an American former professional ice hockey player who played 17 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played nine seasons with the Edmonton Oilers and almost six seasons with the Anaheim Ducks, along with just over a season with the Columbus Blue Jackets and a game with the New York Rangers.
