The Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools (locally known also as ''WJCC'' or ''WJC'') is a combined public school division which serves the independent city of Williamsburg and James City County in the Virginia Peninsula area of the Hampton Roads region in southeastern Virginia. The system consists of approximately 11,000 students in 15 schools, of which there are 9 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 3 high schools. The system employs 800 instructional staff members and over 600 support staff members. James River Elementary School, located in the Grove Community in the county's southeastern end, is a magnet school. Warhill High School

Bruce Randall Hornsby (born November 23, 1954) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. His music draws from folk rock, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Southern rock, country rock, jam band, rock, heartland rock, and blues rock musical traditions. James Blaine Blayton
James Blaine Blayton (August 13, 1905 – December 15, 2002) was a prominent African-American physician in the Williamsburg, Virginia, area who lived in the Grove community in adjacent James City County. He practiced medicine for more than 50 years, and was also a civic leader. Biography Early years Blayton was born in Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) in 1905. He attended school in a two-room schoolhouse. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Career Dr. Blayton began his medical practice on the Virginia Peninsula during the first half of the 20th century. Matthew Whaley School
Matthew Whaley School is a public elementary school located in the Peacock Hill neighborhood of Williamsburg, Virginia, occupying a historic school building. It is within the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools. The Georgian Revival structure was built between 1929 and 1930 based on a design by noted Virginia architect Charles M. Robinson. The monumental school building was located adjacent to the Governor's Palace in Colonial Williamsburg and "quickly became a local landmark of considerable architectural pretension." International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an educational programme managed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) for students in grades Kindergarten to Fifth grade. While the programme prepares students for the IB Middle Years Programme, it is not a prerequisite for it. The subject areas of the PYP are language, social studies, mathematics, science and technology, arts, and personal, social and physical education. Jamestown High School is a public secondary school at 3751 John Tyler Highway in James City County, Virginia, just outside Williamsburg, Virginia. The school opened in 1997, becoming the second of three high schools in the county. It is part of Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools. As of 2013 it had 1,211 students. History Jamestown High School opened in 1997, with the first student body consisting of Lafayette High School students and various local middle school graduates. Its name derives from the nearby Jamestown Settlement.
