William Woods (congressman)
William Woods (November 1790 Washington County, New York – August 7, 1837 Bath (town), New York, Bath, Steuben County, New York) was an American lawyer and politician from New York (state), New York. Life He received limited schooling, and removed to Bath in 1813. Then he studied law, was admitted to the bar and practiced in Bath. He was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1823 and 1828. Woods was elected as an Adams-Clay Democratic-Republican Party, Democratic-Republican to the 18th United States Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of William B. Rochester and served from December 1, 1823, to March 3, 1825. Afterwards he resumed the practice of law. He was Probate court, Surrogate of Steuben County from 1827 to 1835. He was buried at the Grove Cemetery in Bath. Sir William Woods KH FSA (17 August 1785 - 25 July 1842) was an officer of arms at the College of Arms in London. Woods was a bastard of unknown paternity. He used the name and arms of George Woods, a London tailor, but was said to be the son of the Duke of Norfolk. George IV was a close friend. William Woods Holden
William Woods Holden (November 24, 1818 – March 1, 1892) was an American politician who served as the List of Governors of North Carolina, 38th and 40th governor of North Carolina. He was appointed by President of the United States, President Andrew Johnson in 1865 for a brief term and then elected in 1868. He served until 1871 and was the leader of the state's History of the United States Republican Party, Republican Party during the Reconstruction Era. Holden was the second governor in American history to be Impeachment in the United States, impeached, and the first to be removed from office through that process. His impeachment was politically motivated due to his suppression of the Ku Klux Klan. After Republicans lost the 1870 election, Democrats impeached him on eight charges for supposed actions during the Kirk–Holden war. He is the only North Carolina governor to have been impeached. Billy Woods (stylized as billy woods) is an American rapper based in New York. He is also the founder of the record label Backwoodz Studioz. Woods has been a member of Armand Hammer, Super Chron Flight Brothers, and The Reavers. Early life Billy Woods was born in Washington, D.C. His mother was an English literature professor from Jamaica. His father was a PhD Marxist writer, active in the Zimbabwe War of Liberation and then member of the government in Zimbabwe. In 1980, the family moved to Zimbabwe. After the death of Woods' father, they returned to the United States in 1989. He is best known as the presenter, alongside Sandra Sully, of Network Ten's '' Ten News at Five'' in Sydney (a role which he left in November 2012) and '' Sports Tonight.'' Early life William Maitland Woods was born on 4 January 1864 in Mayfair, London, England, the son of Alfred Woods, master draper, and his wife Jane (née Damerel). He studied at the City of London School followed by St Mary Hall, Oxford University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1889. William Woods (born December 29, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Atlanta Braves. Amateur career Woods attended Peabody High School in Trenton, Tennessee, where he pitched to a 12–2 record with a 0.84 ERA and 119 strikeouts as a senior in 2017. After graduating, he first enrolled at the University of Tennessee at Martin before transferring to Dyersburg State Community College at the end of the fall semester. William Burnham Woods (August 3, 1824 – May 14, 1887) was an American attorney and jurist who served as a United States circuit judge and an associate justice of the United States Supreme Court as well as an Ohio politician and soldier in the Civil War. Early life and education Woods was born on August 3, 1824, in Newark, Ohio. He was the older brother of Charles R. Woods, who also became a general in the Civil War. Woods played all his schoolboy football with Midleton before spending two and a half years at Coventry City.
