William Thomson (Dundee Footballer)
William Thomson (29 April 1874 – 12 December 1917) was a Scottish footballer who played as a right winger. Career Born in Dundee, Thomson played club football in the Scottish Football League for Dundee, and in the English Football League for Bolton Wanderers. He made one appearance for Scotland in 1896. Dundee (; sco, Dundee; gd, Dùn Dè or ) is Scotland's fourth-largest city and the 51st-most-populous built-up area in the United Kingdom. The mid-year population estimate for 2016 was , giving Dundee a population density of 2,478/km2 or 6,420/sq mi, the second-highest in Scotland. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
