William St Lawrence, 2nd Earl Of Howth
William St Lawrence, 2nd Earl of Howth (4 October 1752 - 4 April 1822) was an Anglo-Irish peer, styled Viscount St Lawrence from 1767 to 1801. Life St Lawrence was the eldest son of Thomas St Lawrence, 1st Earl of Howth and Isabella King, daughter of Sir Henry King, 3rd Baronet and Isabella Wingfield. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. He was Earl during the construction of Howth Harbour from 1807 as well as the visit of George IV to Ireland via Howth pier in 1821. Personal life On 1 June 1777, he married Lady Mary Bermingham, daughter of Thomas Bermingham, 1st Earl of Louth and Margaret Daly. She died on 20 July 1793. Anglo-Irish people () denotes an ethnic, social and religious grouping who are mostly the descendants and successors of the English Protestant Ascendancy in Ireland. Thomas St Lawrence, 3rd Earl Of Howth
Thomas St Lawrence, 3rd Earl of Howth KP (16 August 1803 – 4 February 1874) was an Irish peer, styled Viscount St Lawrence until 1822. He became Earl of Howth in 1822 on the death of his father, William St Lawrence, 2nd Earl of Howth. His mother was William's second wife Margaret Burke. He was Vice-Admiral of the Coast of Leinster, and was appointed a Knight of the Order of St Patrick on 22 July 1835 and Lord Lieutenant of County Dublin in 1851. On 9 January 1826, he married Lady Emily, daughter of John de Burgh, 13th Earl of Clanricarde and Elizabeth Burke. She died of measles in 1842 in Dublin. On 27 February 1851, he married Henrietta Elizabeth Digby Barfoot (d. 5 March 1884) of Midlington House, Hampshire, daughter of Peter Barfoot and Henrietta Digby. Earl Of Howth
Earl of Howth ( ) was a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created in 1767 for Thomas St Lawrence, 15th Baron Howth, who was elevated to Viscount St Lawrence at the same time, also in the Peerage of Ireland. The St Lawrence family descended from Christopher St Lawrence who was elevated to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Howth in about 1425. The third and fourth Barons both served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland. The family's origins are thought to go back to Almeric Tristram, a liegeman of the Anglo-Irish knight John de Courcy, who conquered Howth in 1177. The St Lawrence family claimed significant prerogative rights as Lords of Howth over the whole peninsula, and were prepared to maintain their rights even against the English Crown. William George Boyle
The Honourable William George Boyle (12 August 1830 – 24 March 1908) was a British soldier and Liberal Party politician. Boyle was the second son of Charles Boyle, Viscount Dungarvan, second but eldest surviving son of Edmund Boyle, 8th Earl of Cork. His mother was Lady Catherine St Lawrence while Richard Boyle, 9th Earl of Cork, was his elder brother. Boyle served with the Coldstream Guards and achieved the rank of lieutenant-colonel. In 1856 he succeeded his elder brother as Member of Parliament for Frome, a seat he held until the following year. He was also a Justice of the Peace for Somerset. Boyle died in March 1908, aged 77. Richard Edmund St Lawrence Boyle, 9th Earl of Cork and Orrery KP, PC (19 April 1829 – 22 June 1904), styled Viscount Dungarvan between 1834 and 1856, was a British courtier and Liberal politician. In a ministerial career spanning between 1866 and 1895, he served three times as Master of the Buckhounds and twice as Master of the Horse. Thomas St Lawrence, 1st Earl of Howth (10 May 1730 – 29 September 1801) was Anglo-Irish peer and lawyer. Howth was the eldest son of William St Lawrence, 14th Baron Howth and Lucy Gorges, daughter of General Richard Gorges and his first wife Nichola Sophia Hamilton. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. On 4 April 1748, he succeeded to his father's barony. In 1776, the Crown granted Howth a yearly pension of £500 in consideration of his own and his ancestors' services. He was a qualified barrister, and was elected as a Bencher of King's Inns in Dublin in 1767.
