William Roesch
William Russell Roesch (born July 1865) was the first mayor of Eau Gallie, Florida. He served six-terms in 1896, 1901, 1905, 1908, 1924, and 1925. He was the founder and editor of the newspaper ''The Eau Gallie Record.'' He also served as postmaster. Roesch, was the first town treasurer of Eau Gallie in 1887. In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson appointed Roesch postmaster of Eau Gallie, and reappointed him in 1918. In 1921, he was reappointed by President Warren Harding. Roesch was also member of the local volunteer fire department. He founded ''The Eau Gallie Record'' in 1916. He turned over the day-to-day operations of the newspaper to his son, William Phillip Roesch, when he became Eau Gallie's mayor. The Roesch family sold the Record in 1925 when both William R. Eau Gallie, Florida
Eau Gallie () is a section of the city of Melbourne, Florida, located on the city's northern side. It was an independent city in Brevard County from 1860 until 1969. That year residents of Eau Gallie and Melbourne voted to merge their governments. A subsequent vote resulted in the combined jurisdiction being named Melbourne. The name and identity of Eau Gallie persists in a number of local entities and was used by the Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street, a fully accredited Florida Main Street program since 2010. History Eau Gallie developed as a small coastal town along the Indian River on the Florida East Coast. Houston Pioneer Cemetery
The Houston Pioneer Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Eau Gallie, Florida. It is located within Rossetter Park off Highland Avenue between Oak Street and Shady Lane near the James Wadsworth Rossetter House. The cemetery includes graves of original settlers from Eau Gallie such as John Caroll Houston, III and his wife Mary Virginia Houston. The Houston Memorial Park is also located here with a memorial from 1947 located adjacent to the cemetery. This memorial dates the first grave at 1865,Eau Gallie Garden Club. Woodrow Wilson
Thomas Woodrow Wilson (December 28, 1856February 3, 1924) was an American politician and academic who served as the 28th president of the United States from 1913 to 1921. Warren Harding
Warren Gamaliel Harding (November 2, 1865 – August 2, 1923) was the 29th president of the United States, serving from 1921 until his death in 1923. A member of the Republican Party, he was one of the most popular sitting U.S. presidents. After his death, a number of scandals were exposed, including Teapot Dome, as well as an extramarital affair with Nan Britton, which diminished his reputation. Harding lived in rural Ohio all his life, except when political service took him elsewhere. As a young man, he bought ''The Marion Star'' and built it into a successful newspaper. Harding served in the Ohio State Senate from 1900 to 1904, and was lieutenant governor for two years.
