William Poromaa
William Poromaa (born 23 December 2000) is a Swedish cross-country skier who competes internationally. He competed at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2021 in Oberstdorf, where he placed fourth in the relay with the Swedish team. Personal life Poromaa is a son of former cross-country skiers Anette Fanqvist and . Poromaa is of Finnish descent through his paternal grandmother. Malmberget
Malmberget ("The Ore Mountain", Finnish and Meänkieli: ''Malmivaara'') is a locality and mining town situated in Gällivare Municipality, Norrbotten County, Sweden. It had 5,590 inhabitants in 2010, reduced to 927 by December 2020. It is situated 5 kilometres from the municipal seat of Gällivare. The entire Malmberget town was moved in 2020/2021 due to mining activities in the area. Malmberget is known as a major site for the extraction of iron ore from deep mines by Swedish mining company LKAB. Iron ore mining started in 1741 at Illuvaara mountain, later known as ''Gällivare Malmberg'' and eventually just ''Malmberget''. The first train transporting iron ore was loaded in 1888 - the beginning of the great iron ore rush that would change the entire area of Northern Lapland. The men's 30 kilometre skiathlon competition in cross-country skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 6 February, at the Kuyangshu Nordic Center and Biathlon Center in Zhangjiakou. The event, with half distance classic skiing and half distance skate skiing, was won by Alexander Bolshunov, for whom this is the first Olympic gold medal. Denis Spitsov finished second and Iivo Niskanen third. Summary The 2018 champion is Simen Hegstad Krüger who qualified for the Olympics but tested positive for COVID-19 just before the games. Even though he had no symptoms, he was not allowed to fly to China with the rest of the team and did not get a chance to defend the title.
