Mount Thompson Memorial Gardens and Crematorium (formerly Brisbane Crematorium) includes a heritage-listed chapel (the West Chapel), columbaria and other features. The New South Wales Legislative Council, often referred to as the upper house, is one of the two chambers of the parliament of the Australian state of New South Wales. The Australian Labor Party (New South Wales Branch), also known as NSW Labor, is the New South Wales branch of the Australian Labor Party. Col Colborne
Colin Colborne (3 October 1909 – 9 August 1987) was an Australian politician. He was born in Brisbane to printer and politician William Parry Colborne and Kathleen Mary Davey. He was educated in Brisbane and became a machine compositor, moving to New South Wales and becoming assistant federal secretary of the Printing Industry Employees' Union in 1938. He was federal secretary of the union from 1952 to 1974 and also editor of the Printing Trades Journal. On 19 June 1937 he married Ellen Hindmarsh, with whom he had three children. From 1949 to 1973 he served as a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Council. Ted Theodore
Edward Granville Theodore (29 December 1884 – 9 February 1950) was an Australian politician who served as Premier of Queensland from 1919 to 1925, as leader of the state Labor Party. He later entered federal politics, serving as Treasurer in the Scullin Labor government. Theodore was born in Adelaide, the son of a Romanian immigrant. He left school at the age of 12, and spent the next decade working his way around the country. He arrived in Queensland in 1906, and soon became involved in the labour movement. Theodore was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly in 1909, aged just 24. He was also elected state president of the Australian Workers' Union in 1913. Theodore became Treasurer of Queensland following Labor's victory at the 1915 state election. In 1919, Theodore succeeded T. J. Ryan as premier.
