William Jones (Liberal Politician)
William Jones (1860 – 9 May 1915) was a British Liberal Party politician. Early history Jones was born in Penmynydd in 1860, the son of William, a peasant farmer and Jane. His father died when he was a child, and the family subsequently moved into Llangefni. He was educated first at the British school at Llangefni, later becoming the pupil-teacher there. He continued his education at Bangor Normal College and the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth He became a country schoolmaster, before working for the London School Board, and later as a private tutor at Oxford. Political career Jones entered the House of Commons as Liberal MP for Arfon in the 1895 general election. He was re-elected unopposed in 1900 and in 1906. Cecil Beck
Sir Arthur Cecil Tyrrell Beck (3 December 1876 – 22 March 1932) was a British Liberal Party politician. Background He was born in Bloemfontein South Africa and was the son of Arthur William Beck and Annie Tyrrell. He was educated at Haileybury and the Jesus College, Cambridge. In 1922 he married Lillian Clare Charteris Rickards. They had no children. Professional career In 1898 he qualified as a Barrister and was called to bar at Lincoln's Inn, but he never practised. Sir Henry Webb, 1st Baronet
Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Henry Webb, 1st Baronet, JP (28 July 1866, Hereford – 29 October 1940, Caerleon) was a British Liberal Party politician who was Member of Parliament (MP) for Forest of Dean (1911–1918) and Cardiff East (1923–1924), and as Junior Lord of the Treasury (1912–1915). Biography Educated at Lausanne and Paris, known as "Harry", he trained as a mining engineer and became a director of several South Wales collieries. He was High Sheriff of Monmouthshire for 1921 and a JP in three counties. During World War I, he raised and commanded the 13th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment and the 13th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. Sir Arthur Adlington Haworth, 1st Baronet (22 August 1865 – 31 August 1944), was a British businessman and Liberal politician. He was born in Eccles, Lancashire, and was the eldest son of Abraham Haworth of Altrincham. He was educated at Rugby School before going into business in Manchester. He became a senior partner in James Dilworth and Son, yarn merchants. Frederick Edward "Freddie" Guest, (14 June 1875 – 28 April 1937) was a British politician best known for being Chief Whip of Prime Minister David Lloyd George's Coalition Liberal Party, 1917–1921. He was also Secretary of State for Air between 1921 and 1922. He won the bronze medal with the British polo team at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. Percy Holden Illingworth (19 March 1869 – 3 January 1915) was a British Liberal politician. He served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury under H. H. Asquith between 1912 and 1915. Background and education Illingworth was the third and youngest son of Henry Illingworth, of Bradford, a member of an old Yorkshire family, and his wife Mary, daughter of Sir Isaac Holden, 1st Baronet.
