William Henry Spencer
William Henry Spencer (September 1857 – May 30, 1925) was an Afro-American educator in Columbus, Georgia, Columbus, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, in the late 19th and early 20th century. Early years He was born September 1857 to Henry Spencer, a blacksmith, in Columbus, Georgia, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, Muscogee County, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. He was raised by his father along with his sisters: Mary, Dora, Hattie, Ella, Leila and Lidia; and a brother, Samuel. Spencer attended the Asbury Chapel, a Columbus Public school (government funded), public school designated for African-American children. After graduating, he applied for and received a certificate for teaching in 1875, marking the beginning of a 50 year career in education. William Henry Spencer High School, is at 1000 Fort Benning Road in Columbus, Georgia, United States. The school colors are green and gold. The school mascot is the Owl, representing wisdom. The school also defines itself as "The Greenwave." The original school was established on November 29, 1930, by the Columbus Public Schools as the first African American high school in Columbus. The school was named in honor of Dr. William Henry Spencer, Supervisor of the Colored Schools in Muscogee County. The teaching staff consisted of 15 members. History The first Spencer High School was built on 10th Avenue at 8th Street. The facility served as the home of Marshall Junior High School after Spencer High School relocated to 1830 Shepherd Drive in 1953. Appendicitis
Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix. Symptoms commonly include right lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite. However, approximately 40% of people do not have these typical symptoms. Severe complications of a ruptured appendix include widespread, painful inflammation of the inner lining of the abdominal wall and sepsis. Appendicitis is caused by a blockage of the hollow portion of the appendix. This is most commonly due to a calcified "stone" made of feces.
