William Henry Fitzgerald
William Henry Fitzgerald (1848–1922) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Fitzgerald was born May 15, 1848 in what is now Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Fitzgerald was originally a member during the 1878, 1879 and 1880 sessions. After the length of sessions were change to two years, he was again a member during the 1891 and 1893 sessions. Previously, Fitzgerald was Town Treasurer of Cedarburg in 1872 and Chairman (similar to Mayor) of Cedarburg in 1876 and 1877. Additionally, he was a justice of the peace. Fitzgerald was identified as an Independent Democrat and a Democrat. He married Teresa M. Dunn (1853–1933) and died on January 3, 1922, in Grafton, Wisconsin Grafton is a village in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. Cedarburg is a town in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States, and is in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The town was created in 1849 and at the time of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census had a population of 6,162. German and Irish immigrants first settled in Cedarburg in the 1840s. Their centers of settlement became the unincorporated communities of Decker Corner, Wisconsin, Decker Corner, Hamilton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, Hamilton, and Horns Corners, Wisconsin, Horns Corners, as well as the Cedarburg, Wisconsin, City of Cedarburg, which is located partially within the town. Grafton is a village in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. Located about north of Milwaukee and in close proximity to Interstate 43, it is a suburban community in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The village incorporated in 1896, and at the time of the 2010 census the population was 11,459. Like many of Ozaukee County's cities and villages, the Village of Grafton has rural roots and began as a mill town. The German and Irish immigrants who settled in Grafton in the 1840s utilized the Milwaukee River as a source of hydropower for gristmills and woolen mills. Manufacturing grew and prospered in the village in the 20th century, including the Paramount Records studio and plant, which was in Grafton from 1929 to 1935.
