William Handcock (1676–1723)
William Handcock (1676 – August 1723) was an Irish politician. He was the eldest son of Thomas Handcock and his wife Dorothy Green. Handcock entered the Irish House of Commons in 1703, representing the constituency of Athlone until 1714. He sat for Dublin City from 1721 until his death two years later. He married Sarah Warburton, daughter of Richard Warburton and had by her six sons and four daughters. Thomas Handcock
Thomas Handcock (28 May 1654 – 1726) was an Irish politician. He was the eldest son of William Handcock and his wife Abigail, daughter of Sir Thomas Stanley and sister of Thomas Stanley. His younger brother was Sir William Handcock, Recorder of Dublin. In 1692, Handcock entered the Irish House of Commons, representing Lanesborough until 1699. On 5 July 1677, he married Dorothy Green, and had, by her, four sons and four daughters. Sir Richard Levinge, 2nd Baronet
Sir Richard Levinge, 2nd Baronet ( – 27 February 1748) was an Irish landowner and politician. He was the eldest son of Sir Richard Levinge, 1st Baronet and his first wife Mary Corbin, daughter of Gawan Corbin, merchant of London. His father, a Derbyshire man, had a remarkably successful career in Ireland as MP, Privy Councillor, Solicitor General for Ireland, Attorney General for Ireland and Chief Justice of the Irish Common Pleas. On his father's death, he inherited Parwich Hall, the ancestral home in Derbyshire, and the newer property of Knockdrin Castle, County Westmeath. He spent most of his time at Parwich, which he extensively rebuilt. He married in 1718 Isabella Rawdon (died 1731), daughter of Sir Arthur Rawdon, 2nd Baronet and Helena Graham; her brother John married Richard's sister Dorothy. Edward Pakenham (Irish Politician)
Major General Sir Edward Michael Pakenham, (19 March 1778 – 8 January 1815), was an Anglo-Irish Army officer and politician. He was the son of the Baron Longford and the brother-in-law of the Duke of Wellington, with whom he served in the Peninsular War. During the War of 1812, he was the commander of British forces attempting to take the Southern port of New Orleans (1814–15). On 8 January 1815, Pakenham was killed in action while leading his men at the Battle of New Orleans. Early life Pakenham was born at Pakenham Hall (present-day Tullynally Castle) in County Westmeath, Ireland, to Edward Pakenham, 2nd Baron Longford, and his wife Catherine Rowley. Henry St George (1676–1723)
Sir Henry St George (1581–1644) was an English Officer of arms. He was the third (but eldest surviving) son of the herald Sir Richard St George and his wife Elizabeth St John. Life He was born on 27 January 1581 at Hatley St George, Cambridgeshire. He entered the College of Arms as Rouge Rose pursuivant-extraordinary in 1610 and was promoted to Bluemantle Pursuivant the following year, in which capacity he accompanied his father in his visitations of Derbyshire and Cheshire. In 1614 he married Mary, the daughter of Sir Thomas Dayrell of Lillingstone Dayrell, Buckinghamshire, with whom he had eleven children. He was promoted to Richmond Herald in 1616 and acted as William Camden's deputy for a number of visitations between 1619 and 1623. Irish House Of Commons
The Irish House of Commons was the lower house of the Parliament of Ireland that existed from 1297 until 1800. The upper house was the House of Lords. The membership of the House of Commons was directly elected, but on a highly restrictive franchise, similar to the unreformed House of Commons in contemporary England and Great Britain. Catholics were disqualified from sitting in the Irish parliament from 1691, even though they comprised the vast majority of the Irish population. The Irish executive, known as the Dublin Castle administration, under the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, was not answerable to the House of Commons but to the British government. However, the Chief Secretary for Ireland was usually a member of the Irish parliament. In the Commons, business was presided over by the Speaker.
