William H. Bledsoe
William Harrison Bledsoe (December 23, 1869 – March 30, 1936), was a Texas attorney who served in the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate. During the latter service, he helped enact legislation creating Texas Tech University. Roy Alvin Baldwin
Roy Alvin Baldwin (January 2, 1885 – October 2, 1940) was an American politician. He served as a Democratic Party (United States), Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing the Texas's 119th House of Representatives district, 119th and 122nd districts. Life and career Born in Mercer County, Missouri, Baldwin was the son of Lucinda Ellen Garriott. He attended the University of New Mexico. In 1920, Baldwin was elected to represent the 122nd district of the Texas House of Representatives, suceeding William H. Bledsoe, who had gone to serve in the Texas Senate. In 1923, he won election to represent the Texas's 119th House of Representatives district, 119th district of the Texas House, succeeding John Quaid. He was succeeded by Dewey Young for his 122nd district seat, and in 1925 was succeeded in the 119th district by James K. Wester. Texas State Senate
The Texas Senate ( es, Senado de Texas) is the upper house of the Texas State Legislature. There are 31 members of the Senate, representing single-member districts across the U.S. state of Texas, with populations of approximately 806,000 per constituency, based on the 2010 U.S. Census. There are no term limits, and each term is four years long. Elections are held in even-numbered years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. In elections in years ending in 2, all seats are up for election. Half of the senators will serve a two-year term, based on a drawing; the other half will fill regular four-year terms. In the case of the latter, they or their successors will be up for two-year terms in the next year that ends in 0. As such, in other elections, about half of the Texas Senate is on the ballot.
