William E. Owen
William Esthon Owen (November 28, 1888July 16, 1976) was an American farmer and Republican politician from Dunn County, Wisconsin. He served six years in the Wisconsin State Assembly and four years in the Wisconsin Senate. Biography Owen was born on November 28, 1888, in New Haven, Dunn County, Wisconsin. Owen graduated from Connorsville, Wisconsin High School and went to the Dunn County Agriculture School. He was a farmer and was involved with the rural electric cooperative. Owen also served as president of the school board. Owen died on July 16, 1976, in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Career Owen was a member of the Senate from 1951 to 1954 and of the Assembly from 1957 to 1958. Wisconsin's 29th Senate District
The 29th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in north-central Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Rusk, and Taylor counties, along with most of Sawyer and Marathon counties, and parts of northwest Clark County and northern Wood County. The district includes the city of Wausau and part of the city of Marshfield, but is otherwise very rural. Current elected officials Cory Tomczyk is the senator representing the 29th district since January 2023. Each Wisconsin State Senate district is composed of three Wisconsin State Assembly districts. Wisconsin's 9th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 9th congressional district was a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin. It was created following the 1870 Census along with the 8th district, and was disbanded after the 2000 Census. From 1965 to 2003, the district included most of the western and north-western suburbs of Milwaukee. In its final configuration, it contained all of Washington and Ozaukee counties, most of Dodge and Jefferson counties, the northern and western halves of Waukesha county and the eastern parts of Sheboygan county, including the town itself. Lester Roland Johnson (June 16, 1901 – July 24, 1975) was a U.S. Representative from Wisconsin. Biography Johnson was born in Brandon, Wisconsin, the son of the politician John E. Johnson. Johnson attended the public schools and Lawrence University from 1919 to 1921. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Commerce in 1924. He was associated with his father in the lumber, feed, and coal business 1924–1938. He entered the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1938 and graduated in February 1941. He was admitted to the Wisconsin bar and commenced practice in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, the same year. He was Chief clerk of the Wisconsin State Assembly 1935–1939. Johnson served with the state banking commission in 1942. He served as district attorney of Jackson County, Wisconsin 1943–1946 and again in 1953.
