William Crowe (1616–1675) was an English clergyman and bibliographer. Life He was born in Suffolk in 1616, and matriculated at the University of Cambridge as a member of Caius College on 14 December 1632. On 4 December 1668, he was nominated by Archbishop Gilbert Sheldon chaplain and schoolmaster of the hospital of Holy Trinity at Croydon, Surrey, founded by Archbishop Whitgift. This office he held till 1675, when the following entry appears in the Croydon parish register:—' 1675, Ap. 11. William Crow that was school master of the Free School, who hanged himself in the window of one of his chambers in his dwelling house, was buried in the church'. William Crowe (poet)
William Crowe (1745–1829) was an English poet, the son of a carpenter and educated as a foundationer at Winchester College. He went to Oxford, where he became public orator. Crowe was a clergyman and rector of Alton Barnes in Wiltshire. He wrote a popular, but somewhat conventional poem, ''Lewesdon Hill'' in 1789, edited William Collins's ''Poems'' in 1828, and lectured on poetry at the Royal Institution. His poems were collected in 1804 and 1827. Life William Crowe was born at Midgham, Berkshire, and baptised 13 October 1745. His father, a carpenter by trade, lived during Crowe's childhood at Winchester, where the boy occasionally sang as a chorister in Winchester College chapel. At the election in 1758, he was placed on the roll for admission as a scholar at the college, and was duly elected a "poor scholar". Wil Crowe
William Chandler Crowe (born September 9, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Washington Nationals. Amateur career Crowe attended Pigeon Forge High School in Sevier County, Tennessee. The Cleveland Indians selected him in the 31st round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He declined to sign, instead of attending the University of South Carolina, where he pitched for the South Carolina Gamecocks. While at South Carolina, in April 2015, Crowe tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his right throwing elbow and underwent Tommy John surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews. He spent the next two years rehabbing with fellow Gamecocks pitcher Cody Morris, who described Crowe as "a mentor" to him during the process even though Crowe had his elbow procedure just a month sooner. Heroes Of The Pacific
''Heroes of the Pacific'' is an aerial combat simulator game set in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. Plot The player assumes the role of William Crowe, an American who experiences the various phases of the Pacific War with Japan, beginning with the Pearl Harbor attack in December 1941. Crowe's brother Charlie is killed during the attack. He is restationed at Wake Island where he comes under the command of Admiral Daniel Howells. He later participates in escorting Howells off the island as it is about to fall to the Japanese. When they make it to the Lexington, Crowe gets a new squadron consisting of Cunningham, Murphy, Slater, and commanded by Callahan. The Battle of the Coral Sea, the Battle of Midway, Guadalcanal, and the Marshall Islands are all featured in one or more missions.
