William C. Joyner
William C. Joyner was an American politician from Arizona. He served a single term in the Arizona State Senate during the 8th Arizona State Legislature, holding one of the two seats from Pima County. He also served as the state game warden, and was responsible for the construction of the Phoenix Zoo#Hunt Bass Hatchery House ("Ruby's House"), Hunt Bass Hatchery House. Biography Joyner was born in 1880 in Newburg, Missouri. After graduating high school in Missouri, he received his bachelor's degree from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Missouri School of Mines. Joyner was a trainman by occupation, and was employed in that capacity when he moved to Tucson, Arizona from Missouri in 1920, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He also served two terms as a trustee on the University of Arizona Board of Regents and served as the Arizona state chairman for the Democrats. Pima County
Pima County ( ) is a county in the south central region of the U.S. state of Arizona. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,043,433, making it Arizona's second-most populous county. The county seat is Tucson, where most of the population is centered. The county is named after the Pima Native Americans who are indigenous to this area. Pima County includes the entirety of the Tucson Metropolitan Statistical Area, and it is the third largest metropolitan area in the Southwestern United States. Pima County contains parts of the Tohono O'odham Nation, as well as all of the San Xavier Indian Reservation, the Pascua Yaqui Indian Reservation, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Ironwood Forest National Monument and Saguaro National Park.
