William Butler (born 1968) is an American actor, writer, director, make-up artist, special effects technician and producer. History Butler is known for playing characters who are killed off in many of the horror films that he has appeared in. Mitchells & Butlers Brewery was formed when Henry Mitchell's old Crown Brewery (founded in Smethwick in 1866) merged with William Butler's Brewery (also founded in Smethwick in 1866) in 1898. Henry Mitchell had moved to the Cape Hill site in 1879 and this became the company's main brewing site. It had its own railway network, connected to the national railway system from 1907–1962, via the Harborne line. Various acquisitions included Holder's Brewers, who owned Birmingham's Midland Brewery, in 1919. The company merged with Bass in 1961. With the brand under ownership of Coors Brewers, the brewery closed in 2002 with production switched to Burton upon Trent. The brewery was undergoing demolition in 2005. William Butler (1535–29 January 1618) was an English academic and physician. A Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge, he gained a reputation as an eccentric, a drunkard, and "the greatest physician of his time". Life Butler was born at Ipswich in Suffolk and matriculated as a sizar at Peterhouse, Cambridge, in 1558 (BA 1561, MA 1564, Fellow 1561). In 1572 he was elected a Fellow of Clare Hall, Cambridge (later Clare College), and granted a licence to practise physic by the university. According to the 17th-century antiquary John Aubrey, he lived at an apothecary's shop at Cambridge with a servant, an "old mayd" named Nell whose job it was to fetch him home each night from a tavern. William Patrick Butler (8 November 1871 – 19 August 1953) was a New Zealand cricketer and Test cricket umpire. Butler was born and died in Dunedin, where he attended Christian Brothers' High School. He made a single first-class appearance for Otago during the 1901–02 season, against Hawke's Bay. Opening the batting, he scored two runs in the only innings in which he batted, as Otago won the match by an innings. Between 1921 and 1937, Butler umpired eighteen first-class matches in New Zealand and two Test matches. He umpired the first Test match ever played by New Zealand, in Christchurch in January 1930. William John Butler (1818–1894) was an English churchman, Dean of Lincoln from 1885 until his death. He was previously Vicar of the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Wantage from 1847 to 1881, where he founded the Community of St Mary the Virgin. Life He was eldest son of John Laforey Butler (1786-1848), a member of the firm of H. and I. Johnstone, merchants and bankers, born in Bryanston Street, Marylebone, London, on 10 February 1818. His mother, Henrietta, daughter of Captain Robert Patrick, was of Irish, as his father was of Pembrokeshire, descent. William Butler (missionary)
Rev. William Butler, D.D. (January 30, 1818 – August 18, 1899) was an Irish-born U.S. Methodist Episcopal pioneer missionary. He was the founder of the Methodist Episcopal Mission in India, and afterward founder of the Mission in Mexico. Born in Ireland in 1818, he was converted to the Methodist movement in 1837, and in 1839, he began to preach. Ordained in 1848, he came to the U.S. in 1850, and for several years, preached in Massachusetts. From 1856 to 1866, he was in India, before returning to Massachusetts. From 1873 to 1879, he was in Mexico. He subsequently wrote books on missions in India and Mexico, which were used as standard works in his time. As a preacher Butler was evangelical, evangelistic, and eloquent. He was rugged and aggressive, but he would not indulge, nor permit his preachers to indulge, in controversy.
