William Blackman (cricketer)
William Blackman (27 November 1862 – 2 June 1885) was a cricketer who played first-class cricket for Sussex County Cricket Club. He was educated at Ardingly College and played 34 times for Sussex between 1881 and 1884. CricketArchive. Retrieved 2008-06-06. Suffering from poor health, he then moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he died of tuberculosis at the age of 22 within a few months. William Fremont Blackman
William Fremont Blackman (1855–1932) was the fourth president of Rollins College from 1902 to 1915. He was born on September 26, 1855, in North Pitcher, New York. He attended Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1877. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Yale University in 1880 and his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1893. He did further studies at the Berlin University (Royal Statistical Bureau, 1893) and the College de France in Paris (1894). Before he joined Yale as Professor of Christian Ethics in 1893, he held pastorates at congregational churches in Steubenville, Ohio, Naugatuck, Connecticut, and Ithaca, New York. While at Yale he lectured on social philosophy and ethics, and served as editor of the Yale Review. He was appointed as President of Rollins College in 1902. Billy Blackman
William Alfred Blackman (6 August 1895 – 29 September 1969) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Robert James Blackman (1855-1926), and Margaret Ellen Blackman (1857-1912), née Peterson, William Alfred Blackman was born in Brunswick, Victoria on 6 August 1895. Military service He served in the First AIF, enlisting in September 1915. He was wounded in action on three separate occasions. He returned to Australia in December 1918, and was discharged in March 1919. Football Carlton (VFL) Recruited from Brunswick Juniors, he played 54 games with Carlton over five seasons. He played representative football against New South Wales, in Sydney, on 8 July 1922. As a child, he read comic books during long road trips, which created his love for fantastical creatures. Career Blackman attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he earned his degree in Creative Writing. Shortly after graduating, he worked as a ghost writer and submissions editor for a small Northern California literary agency while pursuing his writing career. Will Blackmon
William Edwards Blackmon (born October 27, 1984) is a former American football safety and return specialist. He played college football for the Boston College Eagles, and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He has also played for the New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Redskins, and briefly for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Early life Blackmon was born in Providence, Rhode Island but grew up in Cranston. He was raised by his father and grandmother after his mother died from Crohn's disease when he was 6 years old. Blackmon attended Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island. At Hendricken, Blackmon earned 2001 All-America first-team honors from USA Today, ESPN.com, SuperPrep and PrepStar as a senior.
