Philip Leon "Phil" Wise (born September 5, 1946) is a former ten-term Iowa State Representative. He served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1987 through 2009 and did not seek re-election in 2008. He received his BS and MS from Northwest Missouri State University. Dennis Parmenter
Dennis W. Parmenter (December 27, 1950 – December 12, 2020) was an American politician and lawyer. Parmenter was born in Elkhart, Iowa to parents Paul Parmenter and Kathryn, née Ault. After his mother died, his father remarried, to Sandra Sorenson. Dennis Parmenter attended North Polk High School, Iowa State University, and the Drake University School of Law. He married Kathy Houge in October 1970, with whom he had three children. Parmenter was an Assistant Story County Attorney, and in 1979, established his legal practice in Huxley. Parmenter previously served as mayor of Huxley. A Democrat, he was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 1999 to 2001 (62nd district). Ralph Rosenberg (born 7 October 1949) is an American politician. Ralph Rosenberg is of Jewish descent, born to parents Nathan and Rhea Rosenberg in Chicago on 7 October 1949. He was educated at Bowen High School, and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1972, then completed legal studies at Drake Law School in 1974. He remained in Story County, serving as county attorney for juvenile court and director of the county branch of The Legal Aid Society. Rosenberg was first elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 1981 and represented District 42. Charles City, Iowa
Charles City is a city in and the county seat of Floyd County, Iowa. Charles City is a significant commercial and transportation center for the area. U.S. Routes 18 and 218, Iowa Highway 14, and the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific railroads serve the city. The population was 7,396 at the time of the 2020 census, a decrease of 5.3%, from 7,812 in 2000. History The Ho-Chunk people, also known as Winnebago, had long occupied this area and had a village along the Cedar River. In 1851 Joseph Kelly, the first-known European-American settler in the area, came here after the Ho-Chunk had been pushed out. He believed that the site was ideal for a town, as it had water from the Cedar River and adjacent timberland to supply building needs. The settlement was first called "Charlestown" after his son. North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is a public community college in Mason City, Iowa. History NIACC began as Mason City Junior College in 1918, becoming the first public two-year college in Iowa. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half.
