William B. Giles Egan
William Bartholomew Giles Egan (December 3, 1824 – November 28, 1878) was a justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court from January 9, 1877, to November 29, 1878. He was twice reelected, and after completing his final term returned to private practice. In 1877, Governor Francis T. Amelia County is a county located just southwest of Richmond in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. The county is located in Central Virginia and is included in the Greater Richmond Region. John Edward King (1821 – December 6, 1881) was a justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court for one day, January 9, 1877. King was a member of Louisiana Constitutional Convention of 1852, Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives in 1852, and a state district judge in Opelousas, Louisiana, in 1870. He was appointed to the state supreme court by Governor Stephen B. Edward Douglass White Jr. (November 3, 1844 – May 19, 1921) was an American politician and jurist from Louisiana. White was a U.S. Supreme Court justice for 27 years, first as an associate justice from 1894 to 1910, then as the ninth chief justice from 1910 until his death in 1921. White is known for formulating the '' Rule of Reason'' standard of antitrust law. Born in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, White practiced law in New Orleans after graduating from the University of Louisiana.
